Cagcast question: If you could instantly have in your hands the sequel to one game you've played over any platform at any time and it would be guaranteed a top notch 10 rated game, what would you wish to have?

Oh wow, that's actually quite a tough one there... hmmm... Actually, no, it's not so tough after all: the Temple of Elemental Evil on the PC. Best implementation of D&D combat ever. Period. The problem was that the game was buggy as hell, was plagued by a lack of decent story (instead relying upon an overabundance of awful fedex "quests"), and had no multiplayer. Give me a sequel to this game that's so good it rates a perfect 10 and I'll be as happy as a hog in a wallow!

Hummm.. Final Fantasty 7 I think. I loved the game but 8,9,10,etc. all use different characters, battle systems, worlds, etc. I would love a true sequel.

Planescape: Torment
Don't make me cry... <sniff> Bingo. A continuation of that universe would be wonderful though I would be happier if it was just another story instead of a direct sequel. All things considered I thought the story of the Nameless One ended as only it could.

Star Control II Though I'll be happy when The Ur-Quan Masters is finished. I would be thrilled with a good version of ToEE or Baldur's Gate III.

C'mon this is easy, Chrono Trigger, a guaranteed top notch 10 rated game would have better music, visuals and story than this title had in it's heyday, which today would make it the greatest rpg EVER!
Yeah so Squenix, give me a CT sequel worth playing!

I'm going to say Ascendancy. My first real foray into modern PC gaming, prior to this I had only played assorted games on my C 64.

I'm gonna take the low road here:
Fallout 3. (and screw you to anyone who says I'm Impossible to please: A turn-based isometric post-apocayptic rpg is not 'speaking greek'. A company could do it. And if it wasn't worth doing, then why did they acquire the god damn rights in the first fucking place?!?!?!)
btw- I didn't say an Xcom game, because that almost is certainly being worked on by Firaxis. I didn't say Jagged Alliance 3, because that *was* being worked on. Don't know what the status is now. (before anyone opens their mouth: there were two JA3 titles, one was real-time combat, one wasn't.)
Altrernative picks: Freespace 3 Hexen 3 (could you imagine this with a modified Doom3 Engine?) Mechwarrior 5 - Now with Physical attacks, and the Hatchetman! Daikatana 2 - hey, the stipulation was that it would be a great game. Could you imagine the new heights of hilarity if someone not Romero got the rights and made a triple-A game? Dear God, I now have a mission in life!

Bethesda has the rights and they are working on it now. Wish granted.

Ron, you understood my cruel joke, righ? Knowing kathode is here, and knowing the Bethesda has made comments before that indicate their direction: The diehard Fallout fans are demanding that Fallout 3 take place from a top-down view and that its combat will be turn-based. I've read many comments that say it's not Fallout without these elements. What can you say to those fans right now to ease their minds?
Pete Hines: Until we show the game itself, nothing we say will ease their minds. ABSOLUTE FUCKING BULLSHIT. Nothing we say??!?! How about this one fucktard: "yes, this game will be turn-based." Holy Shit, look at that! Something you could say that would please those 'wacky diehard FO fans' (again, presumably the reason you bought the license in the first place.) As a matter of fact, they even spelled out what would make them happy in the quote above. sorry for the anger, but this isn't rocket sceince. Bethesda has had an indication of what fans who purchased the product before want. That Bethesda chooses to ignore those people isn't some indication of ambiguity, it's that they (Bethesda) are assholes. My analogy: imagine if Chevy were to announce they're reviving the Camaro, but it's going to be given 18 inches of ground clearance, and seat 7. You would (rightfully) say, they're idiots. Well, same here. If you don't want to make a TB game, that don't acquire a TB property. Why do you have to kill a game I love? If they announced this as FO:Morrowind (a spin-off product), I would be psyched. As it is, they have instead killed one of the few TB apoc RPG's around. I will apologzie profusely to kathode if this game is TB. Otherwise:Fuck them!

OK, I've cooled down a bit, and I owe everyone here an apology. I didn't mean to hijack this thread with the btiching above, but I'm gonna leave it so those of you who want to correctly point out that I'm a jackass can. It's just that everytime I see something I love destroyed by someone so he/she/they can make themselves some money, I just lose it. Particularly when the 'thing' involved is an artisitic endeavor, which I feel gaming is.

1. New Ultima after Serpent Isle (or hell just a new, great Ultima) 2. New Thief game more like 2 than 3 3. Eternal Darkness 4. How about a (single player) Autoduel sequel?
Ok I must go and cry now.

I'm going to come out of left field here and say: Gladius.
I absolutely loved the game and the story at the end of the first was just picking up momentum. <sigh>
I don't know that this is my pick from all gaming past and future, but it's the first one that comes to mind....and of course there's KoToR III.

This one is easy:
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic III - tops on my list
I would also love to see sequels to:
Advent Rising - please dear God finish this trilogy! (Best Game of 2005) Starflight - original PC game.

Kind of goofy, but I would like a current or next-gen Spyro the Dragon game, but actually developed by Insomniac. I haven't touched any of the PS2 versions (although I have played around with my fiance's GBA versions).
