Tribes is returning this fall!  it's being done by the same company that did Global Agenda, so at least they have some experience in this type of game.

Sweet!  Love me some Tribes and Tribes 2.  Hi-Rez studios is in Atlanta so I need to harass them for a job so I can get a peek at this!  They are only hiring Unreal engine programmers currently.  Not that I keep looking.

Sweet giblets!  I loved Tribes!  I played it so much back in the day, that I was very unhappy to see the shifter servers go away...  Hard game to let go of.  Hope this one's just as good!

Man that looks a lot like Halo. Oh wait....or was it that Halo looked a lot like Tribes 1 & 2? I'm taking it that, the fact that an eventual XBLA was mentioned in the interview means this will be a budget release for PC - no? If it's the quality of budget games like Section 8 Prejudice, we're in for another treat.

I'm currently playing their previous game, Global Agenda, an MMO third person shooter that is very similar to Tribes. It's dated, but what's there is pretty good gameplay, so that bodes well for this new Tribes.

If they can pull off the classic Tribes 2 feeling I'm in.. one of my favorite games of all-time.
When Section 8 came out thought we had our new Tribes.. but having tried both of them, they just didn't feel the same.

For anyone interested, the original Tribes 2 is free called "Tribes Next" (www.tribesnext.com) still has an active online community, and still fun as hell to play! The flying a scout vehicle through some idiot jetpacking across the sky never gets old.

I always felt Tribes 2 paled in comparison to Tribes 1...suffice to say this game in a mere 15 minutes took me right back to the first time I played the original Tribes.  Honestly, anyone who enjoyed Tribes and/or Tribes 2 should get this.  I preordered the game for $29.99, that got me the game, closed beta access, plus some in game currency and VIP status.

Time to dive back in, ski some slopes and rain down some carnage.

They've patch this a ton over the past few weeks and improved my main complaint, loadout customization.  The front end also received a much needed overhaul and the game is running great for me.

Looks cool and all but mostly screams OP.  Who wants to play with half of the server stealthing everywhere? I think games need less stealthing not more.

It looks like they are going to have a GOTY version of the game that you can buy for $30 which unlocks everything in the game.  They are also releasing a patch with 6 new maps, 3 for CTF and 3 for Arena games, a new Shocklance weapon for all classes and a couple of new skins.  Details at the link because I'm too lazy to recreate all the list items. 

This is great timing, as I had recently been wanting to revisit this one as I had a lot of fun with it.  Hopefully this draws in a lot of new blood as well.  I can't believe I never posted in this thread before, I was playing this game for a couple months.
