Anyone else given this a spin? Read about it in another thread and had to try. I really love this one. Over the top shooter action with an El Mariachi twist suits me fine.
The graphics are reasonable but not bleeding edge. The AI is good enough with bad guys using cover effectively. But the gameplay is a blast.
The main feature is an almost constant reliance on bullet time to pull off cinematic moves such as spin jumping off walls or diving forward with both barrels blazing. Well executed moves can earn you special power ups or are just fun. I got a Stetson bonus for blasting a guy at close range and then catching his hat on my head.
Another feature is the aforementioned power-ups which you can activate from an inventory such as the El Mariachi guitar case machine guns or a whirlwind attack where you leap into the air and spin shoot everyone around you. There are also a variety of vehicles to jump into and slam into people.
The odd thing about the demo level is that it can actually be completed very quickly while only visiting about a third of the map. For example there is a gated area that you can only get into by climbing a water tower and using a cable as a zip line down that you can skip entirely to achieve the objectives.
Fun stuff.

OMG, this game is fun. I hadn't heard about it until reading Ron's preview, but I grabbed the demo and played through it about 3 times in a row.
Over on OO I said this game was like El Mariachi with a mix of Serious Sam/ Max Payne thrown it, which makes me like it.

It's fun.
I just wish it supported AA or AF. I have this amazing graphics card and I'm playing a game that looks like it could have run fine on the original playstation. The jaggies are driving me nuts, even in 1280x1024.
I even turned them on by default in the graphics driver options, and then tried making a profile for the demo. It just seems to ignore that I have AA turned on.
Ugh.

I hadn't heard of it before, but that was a fun demo! It controls nicely on the PC, but I'm wondering how it will be using a controller.

It was a lot of fun, but I'm hoping the lack of quicksave/quickload was just due to its being a demo. I loved Serious Sam and Max Payne, which this game seems like a crazy melding of, but there's no way I'd be able to play either without tons of saving/loading.

Game did not like my rig. Crashed or locked up every time after I took control (cutscene played fine). Oh well, I might reconsider when it's a bargain bin Xbox game.
