Not quite sure what "it all" would be, but wouldn't that be Dune 2? Or Herzog Zwei if you want to include non-PC titles. I do fondly remember TA for the mechanical mayhem and one of the first uses of terrain levels / height as a combat differentiator. I least I think that's what I remember.

I was just about to post this, too.
I have very fond memories of this, but I'm reluctant to pick it up.
Let us know how well it holds up today, CeeKay. Is the resolution locked? Can you play it in a window?

According to Shacknews, the download also includes the "Core Contingency" expansion.

According to a post Brad Wardell made on a different forum, it does. Missing, however, is the in-game music -- the original Total Annihilation used Redbook audio so, with no disc to read from, the soundtrack is silent. -Autistic Angel

Turns out I have the original 2-discer but not the Core Contingency stuff, so it's worth it for me to buy it ... and rip the tracks off the original discs.

Now there's a game I spent a TON of hours playing in the late 90's.
Fond memories indeed....

Gamersgate is carrying it now AND it's currently only $5! This time, I honestly don't know if it contains "Core Contingency."

I asked GG when they started selling it, if it had the expansion and if the music was included (though I figured it wasn't). Here was the response: 1) Started yesterday:) 2) i dont think it does. otherwise it would be explicitly written 3) not it does not - such things are a retail thing so its only the game, manual if the publishers provide it, and depending on the game and the agreement with the publisher. But what you see is what you get:) - so read the game pages before getting something. The site does say it has 150 missions, which is the same as Impulse listed. So, given the guy's vagueness, I'd say still unconfirmed, but probably not. EDIT: According to the GOG forums, the GG version has SecureROM and The GamersGate version is the old, original version. No modern OS support (it may run, but it does not use the modified launcher that Stardock created for increased compatibility), no high-resolution support, and no upcoming patches with neat new features.

Hey, speaking of this game, has anyone actually played it since it came out again?
I'm always wary about jumping into old games again. I never finished TA, but really enjoyed it at the time. However, so much has evolved since then.

Which is interesting, I think, misleading since the last screenshot on the GG page shows hovercraft, which were introduced in Core Contingency IIRC.

Hey, speaking of this game, has anyone actually played it since it came out again? I played it a year or two ago on my XP rig. Needed to dig up the patches to get it to run, but it ran fine. It even supported 1920x1080 just fine.

GOG also has this now (with the expansions) for $6.99. I picked it up. Does anyone know if the Spring Engine conversion works with the single player game? Or is there some mod that will up the graphics?
