Let's try this out a bit -

Tomb Raider Legend - PS2 Training section (3mb)

Video hosting by Gaming Trend: http://www.gamingtrend.com/video/tombraider-legend.wmv

Let me know what sort of speeds you get and whether you streamed it or downloaded it.

~110KB/sec sustained download, spiked up to ~130 at one point, all over my cable connection. IE didn't want to steam the video though.

just downloaded it at a speed somewhere in the 625-725KB/s range...was done in about 4 seconds and fluctuated constantly, but it never dropped below 625KB/s.  i was also able to stream it without any loading delay at all...started playing immediately and without a single stutter.  gotta love Comcast's 6Mbps cable Cool

Varied between 2300kb/s all the way down to 1400kb/s.  Took maybe 4 seconds to download the whole thing.

Cable modem connection, got 66kb/s.  Streaming took quite a while to buffer.

Download was over so fast that it started at 100 kb/s or so and never stopped going up.  Streaming had no delay before starting.

I'm thinkin' somebody put Crisco in GT's new pipes, they're so slick.

Why the heck did my cable connection cap out at ~110KB? I've sustained at ~400-~500KB before, so why so slow over here?

222, baby. Good stuff.

Edit: Video makes the game look kinda fun, too. Wasn't expecting that.

I'm not gonna try to sell you guys on it yet, but what I saw at E3 knocked my socks off.  Mike was there as well - he can attest.  Tomb Raider Legends should be called "Tomb Raider Reborn".  As we move closer I should get debug to write previews on - I'll get you the up-to-date skinny at that point.

Cool. I'm always a sucker for 3rd person action adventure games done right, and it would be nice to be able to shove Legends into the category.

I can't resist...here are a few of the cool things I saw:

They made the PS2 version look far better than this fuzzy trailer suggests.  If he didn't have a PS2 controller in his hands we'd have thought the demo was running on an Xbox.  The framerate was already solid at E3.  When you jump you don't have to hit it 'just right'.  If you catch at a 45 degree angle, Lara will grip on with her fingers and try to recover.  You don't have to hit it dead on to make it.  This made the jumping puzzles a LOT easier.  The camera was dead-on perfect too.  They KNOW that controls and camera buried the previous title, so it wasn't dead last on their development list - it was first. The game looks like it'll be more about exploring than fighting with overly difficult jumping puzzles. (although it did look challenging)  I'm pretty hopeful.
