Tim Cain shows up at Carbine Studios

Maybe this was covered somewhere but dont recall seeing it.

Ex Fallout guru and Troika man, Tim Cain, has grouped with a bunch of ex Blizzard woW folk and moved into Carbine Studios. Seems to be a NCSoft sub company. They are working on a MMO.

I remember that -- some of the team are from the original WoW development team, it seems, along with City of Heroes' executive producer. So obviously it'll be a mix of WoW, Fallout and City of Heroes. Ugh.  Hopefully it'll be something new altogether.  It'll be interesting to see how people from fairly diverse backgrounds mesh.

I think anyone working on an MMO now-especially if its a smaller company or a startup or something not licensed or funded by a big publisher knows they are just going to collect a paycheck from the venture capital for a few years before the MMO either is cancelled or launches and fails almost immediately. I think the era of everyone and their brother trying MMOs is long dead and done, and its a big boy only world now.
