It's!!!.... The Weekend Playlist!!.. fueling your gaming hobby since--Ohh, what the $%^* is this?!! Ladies and Gents, we summarily apologize, but yet another clerical error has been brought to my attention telling me 'The Weekend Playlist' was established not in 1963, but 20 years later, in 1983! We regret this error and the person responsible has been shitcanned.
(PR walks into the Weekend Playlist and busts into Harkonis' office. Harkonis is in the middle of eating a Ho-ho.)
Hark, You're Fired!!
Harkonis: But.. but.. I was in the middle of eating this Ho-ho.
PR_GMR: Finish that Ho-ho, pack yo shit and don't let the door hit your ass on the way out!
Anyways, where was I? Yes, 1983! In honor of today's much-ballyhoo'd 'Royal Wedding', let's take a moment to remember yet another wedder: Giovanni Vigliotto. Mr. Giovanni Vigliotto also married.... 105 women in fact, without divorcing any of them. The holder of the Guinness World Record for Most Prolific Bigamist was finally caught in 1983 after marrying the women between 1949 and 1981. He was a fraudster whose pattern consisted of meeting lonely women at flea markets, getting them to marry him, then taking them for all they had before moving on without a trace to a new city and selling their belongings at flea markets. Ain't love grand! When sentenced in March of 2003, he was given 28 years in jail and fined over 300 grand.
So...what will be your gaming pleasure this weekend?
For me, nuthin' but League Of Legends! And you?

Hopefully some Portal 2 and Rock Band 3. I'd like to get a game of Warmachine in as well if there is time, but I doubt it.

Probably just more Magna Carta 2. hopefully I can get past the boss I'm stuck on. Lost to him 3 times now, and the way this part of the game is set up, there is no way to go back and grind out more levels. Might get in some Legend of Heroes as well.

Rift FM2011 - Still fighting to save my job with Man City. I guess winning the EPL last season doesn't matter when your team is struggling to stay Mid-table Dishwasher Vs. Game is mindless fun Mount & Blade- just picked up the new expansion from Steam last night, so I might fire this up

Quitter. As I'm a single dad this weekend, my gaming will be limited to yard work and the park. At night I'll probably go through some more Portal 2, as well as [redacted] which comes out later next month. Possibly some Case West just to finish that up but we will see.

Oh, I've been feeding the addiction with classics... So I've been going down this weekend with Hexen: Beyond Heretic (with GZDoom, of course) aaaand the continuing adventures of Wilfrido Cagafuego (Fireshitter) in Baldur's Gate I (using BGT mod so I will eventually connect it with the 2nd game). Gotta love the classics.

I'm 27 under after three rounds at the Australian course. Checking in on my dwarves showed the colony was rapidly reaching unsustainability, so I abandoned it.

Nice! Are you playing the male or female PC? For my weekend, I decided to take Gratch's recommendation and try Resonance of Fate for the 360. It combines one of the coolest combat systems of any RPG I've played with a cast of the most loathsome characters this side of Fable II. It actually helps offset the difficulty of this absurd escort mission I'm on, knowing that every time I fail, the "Game Over" screen will be preceded by watching this clutch of shitheads being shot in the face. -Autistic Angel

While I didn't think it was horrible, ROF was - by far - one of the most frustrating gaming experiences I've ever had. While it's kinda fun once you get the hang of it, ROF throws one of the most ridiculously complex battle systems I've ever seen at you with almost zero explanation. That complexity combined with the absolutely massive spikes in difficulty put me in controller throwing mode after about 8 hours and I couldn't keep playing. I know a couple others here (jersoc, Dante, semiconscious, and a couple others) thoroughly enjoyed it though.

Yup, RoF is great. But yeah, the battle system is pretty complex at first and semi hard until you get a machine gun. I would look at a guide to find the earliest you can get a MG, I know it's pretty early in the game. Once you start to customize your guns though, the battles become a lot easier. You can always grind in the arena too.

Spent about 7 hours with Magna Carta 2 over the weekend, making some very good progress. I did end up having to cheese my way past a tough boss by buying the DLC weapons, but I haven't used them otherwise. Still loving this game, and I'd highly recommend it to any JRPG fans who may not have given it a look the first time around.

I see magna Carter 2 got poor reviews but better user scores, I fancy this any chance of a quick summary withotu hijacking the thread Some good info here. MC2's main draw is the incredibly fun real-time combat system (closest comparison would probably be Final Fantasy XII), but it also looks fantastic, the music is great, it's well balanced (don't need to do much grinding), and the story is pretty intriguing although rather cliche. On the down side, it starts really slowly, much of the writing is awkward and stilted, the VO work is hit and miss (Argo and Juto are great, Celestine is one of the most annoying characters I've ever heard), and it's not terribly original. I've been having a really good time with it, but I also went in with exactly zero expectations. If you're looking for a fresh and completely original JRPG, stay away. However, if you're willing to stick out a few slow hours and some not-so-good voice work, the very fun party-based combat really shines and the story and characters end up being quite engaging. You can get it for around $20...what's to lose?
