The PSN Store used to have a great system where you could pay exactly the price that the stuff in your basket cost.  You would put a few things in and hit Checkout and it would ask you to put the total onto a card.  For instance, I just bought some LittleBigPlanet costumes that totaled $4.98.  Normally, I could just charge $4.98 to my credit card.  Seems they changed it recently, though, because it prompted me to put fixed denominations.  Something like $5, $10, $25, etc.  So, now I am sitting with a 2 cent balance in my account.  It was one advantage I fel that the PSN Store had over Nintendo and MS in that you could pay exact price.  Why would they take that away?

Actually, this has happened to me before on the PSN store.  I thought there had been a change, too, but it went right back to the old system next time I went on.  I'm wondering if it doesn't have something to do with a minimum amount.  Like you have to charge at least $5.  Though I could have sworn I'd bought things for $.99.

This could be.  Typically I do buy things more that $5.  I guess I will keep an eye out.

just buy 249 more items at 4.98 and you'll have enough saved up for a 250th one!

Obviously, if you add funds to your wallet as a separate step you need to pick the denomination. However, I too have seen both behaviours when buying things without the covering funds already in my wallet and I just try to checkout. Sometimes it prompts me to add chunks of money and sometimes it just debits me for the amount of the transaction. I've been wondering what triggers the different behaviour myself.  icon_confused

in europe, If I buy for less than 40 kroner, it still adds 40 kroner as a minimum to the wallet

Yeah, I can still buy things.  I do think there's now a $5 limit, it has to do with credit card fees, it's the same reason why a lot of brick and mortar stores have $5-$10 limits before you can use your card.

Of course, now we know that you actually bought LBP costumes.  The shame...  Tongue

In fairness, it could have been The Hoff character for Pain.

i like supporting developers who's stuff i enjoy (see quest for booty), & that's really all i see the lbp downloads being about...
