And Dragon Age but for 360/PS3 owners it doesn't matter much since the delay is about
coordinating all releases.

Not a big deal for me, I have a big backlog to catch up with smile. As for PC, soon Empires TW is out so that
should take care of the PC gaming needs.

Unless the delay was decided a while back but they just held the announcement back until after their earning report then the game would have had to be well into certification, if not duplication, at this point to make the February ship date. But it's not the first time EA has made such a decision- they postponed Army of Two for several months even after reviewers had reviewable builds.

Joystiq is reporting Q1 09, which is April - June.  I was looking forward to it this month but that isn't as bad as 2010.

And now that I think of it... I guess that is EA's 2010 FY.  Stupid Fiscal Year vs Calendar Year!

at least they narrowed it down from 'sometime in fiscal year 2010', which starts in April, to q1 f2010.  why can't these idiots go by a regular year instead of saying their 2010 starts in April 2009?

Wait until they announce that april is too close to summer when 'no one buys games' and they push it to November to coincide with 20 other blockbuster releases.  slywink

ha!

and ok, so april isn't as bad as 2010.  we can reduce the rant level to +1.

now, as long as they don't sack the team as soon as they finish the game, we can look forward to a godfather 3 game.

i'm fine with the delay, not exactly swimming in pennies right now and i enjoyed the first GF to want to play this one and i am sure a delay can only get EA or whoever to put a little more shine into the game

im excited...

-1 for the "squad based" additions

+1 for the "metamap" / strategic portions

i hope they keep the racketeering / taking over of businesses and rackets largely the same - i got a huge kick out of that in the first one

oh and please leave the levelling intact!  while the game was a BITCH at first (very hard i thought!) it was a ton of fun specializing my guy as i wanted to

So, no impressions on this game?

As some may have seen, I got this as part of my Xbox pro package. Played it a bit last night, and it was fun.

The game starts out with a mini tutorial at first, telling you the basics of combat, firearms and shaking down people, taking over rackets and hiring soldiers.

Its pretty fun so far, but havent sunk more than 1-2 hours into it so far.

One thing I really liked, is that I can costumize the look of my badass godfather wannabe, totally SIMS' style, from hair, body build to clothing...

its not bad,not a patch on part 1....instead of a massive New York City, they have smaller maps...new york was very small,Miami which is where i am now is a bit bigger, and then there is Havana...and thats it

main part of the game is just taking over businesses, and making sure taken over said business stays taken over

there is a lot of repeated missions though, with favours and what have you(bomb a depo etc)

i am only 4 or so hours in,and i am nearly done with Miami

It's that pesky 2 vs II thing.

Actually, that other thread should probably have gone into this one instead of starting a whole new chain.  It came first.
