hard to believe, but the fall gaming season is almost upon us.  next week we get a soft start with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and then after that the cavalcade of gaming goodness starts.  it's the time of the year wallets start screaming in pain......

so, what's going to have your wallet screaming?  I have a lot more tentative buys this year, with only 6 or so being definite day one purchase while the rest are wait & see or wait for a sale.  As usual, my 360 and PC will bear a brunt of the work

Dark souls for sure because I loved the first. Just not sure what system.
Skyrim. looks vastly improved over the other games. Especially over that Scrolls game in the same universe.


When they are cheaper
Rage. Looks generic, but it's ID so I'll buy it eventually. Can't be worse than Doom3, right?
Arkham City. First one was good, but combat was boring until a boss fight.

Never
CoD. never because they don't go on sale and not worth more than 10 bucks.


Pretty much it. I"ll probably get the Stars Wars mmo despite it probably holding my attention for first month before the same-as-every-other-damn-mmo gameplay ramps up. Aka, get max level. do nothing but run instances because companies are too stupid to make anything else.

These days I've become very realistic about what I really want to play, so my list is nowhere as crowded as most of yours. Sad fact is the stuff I really want to play might not be out this year. So, here's my list:

Day One::
League Of Legends: Dominion (but, it hardly counts for this list 'cause it'll be free to play)
Star Wars: The Old Republic (which looks likely to be released this holiday season. Thanksgiving, it seems)
Diablo III (It looks like Blizzard is running the final mile on this one. I'm not discounting a Christmas release)
StarCraft II: Heart Of The Swarm (Blizzard needs to release something this holiday season. If not Diablo III, then this)
Guild Wars 2 (Yeah.. no chance that it's coming out this year, but ArenaNet might pull a Christmas miracle)

Eventually:
Skyrim (I've never played a Elder Scrolls game for longer than a few hours. This one's looking impressive, but I know I won't pick it up on Day one)
Uncharted 3 (Really want to play a previous game in the series first)
The Legend Of Zelda:Skyward Sword (If I can pickup a Wii used by the it's released)
Batman: Arkham City (Really want to play the previous game first)
Rage (I'm interested in ID's vehicular mayhem game, but not sure it'll warrant a first day pickup)
ICO Collection (Really want to play these games, but again.. not sure when)

Frankly, I think I'm more excited for Winter/Spring 2012. That's when all these games will be out.

Batman and Assassin's Creed. Then next year Mass Effect 3. Those are my only definite buys.

If I hear it's teriffic, maybe Forza 4, but this is a series I love for a few days and then play it rarely thereafter. (In fact I just put my racing wheel in storage a couple weeks ago....)

If I hear it's nothing like the last two DS games in the series I may give the new Zelda shot.

xmen destiny if it has some nice crunchy rpg bits, skyrim, assassins creed (you sucked me back in!  after being jilted by the first i ignored the second and finally became interested in brotherhood due to the gameplay additions, which i loved and caused me to go back to the second... yada yada yada).  and i LOVED arkham asylum so im expecting to love city even more with its awesomely bloated cast of cameos... but im not sure if ill buy it or just rent it to play through it...  i THINK thats my list?
oh ya and demon souls xbox (forgot the name?).  missed it on ps3 and cried - so hopefully this one is more of the same goodness of the first go around!

after finding the last few years of holiday rush pretty underwhelming (maybe one or two games that i was OMGZZZ about) this one is certainly looking to make a splash for me

honestly sky that was one of the main reasons i was actually even considering buying - and why i probably will.  i think the friendly reminder was probably enough to push me over the edge!  (especially as i felt AA was more than a full game and city looks even larger)
