Sunday, 1800 EST, is anyone having trouble getting Skyrim to work? It checks for updates for the mods (which I wish I knew how to turn off) and then pops up the windows error saying that the game stopped working. I'm sure it's one of the mods, but it's not the one that it stops on and I don't feel like unsubscribing and resubscribing later. Anyone have a fix?

I'm still in the camp of, while playing the game I really don't notice much of a difference at all. Everything as high as it can go.....so its not my system.

You can see the difference in the still's, but even there you have to look closley. In motion I don't think it will be noticed.

Does any one know of a mod for helping to find corpses after a battle?  Sometimes I like to kite a bit and it makes it difficult to find corpses after a big battle.  I have checked workshop and skyrim nexus but I have not found anything.

Personally I am seeing a pretty big difference, however it is a lot of subtle differences.  The game world looks much more crisp to me, and items are much better looking.

I had to disable "Open Skyrim" because it was causing some bugs with quests in Riften.

I've started playing this again. With my newly upgraded graphics card, it looks oh so pwetty. I'm gonna make the effort and stick with it all the way to the end. Killed my first dragon last night and now I crave... Powah!

What is the difference between skyrimnexus and steam workshop?
Do they work the same?
Do they have the same mods?
Can I use both?

Not really.   Technically the quote form the game is "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee.”   The internet meme eventually turned into "to the knee" but both versions are still used.

trailer for Dawnguard.  since it's going to be around 20 bucks I'll be waiting for some reviews to see if it is worth an early purchase or if I'll be waiting for a Steam sale.  on the plus side the 360 has a timed exclusive on it, so getting info won't be a problem.

MOD HELP PLEASE

I lost my Skyrim game-in-progress due to too many mods.  I did to my game what Joan Rivers did to her face... 

So I'm starting from scratch again rather than the headache of trying to bring my game back to life.  To avoid the last headache of over-modding, I was hoping for a big all-in-one mod, or a "for dummies" mod pack with a great list of mods that play nice.  There was a pack like this for either Morrowind or Oblivion (or both?) with install instructions, load order, etc.  So please point me in the right direction if anything like this exists!  I'm looking for everything from graphics, UI, quests, dungeons... all of it!  Thanks.

just read that the 30 day exclusivity on Dawnguard ends today, but no release is in site.  I hope they do so soon, so I can start waiting for Steam to put it on sale

Microsoft must have paid them a LOT of money.  Honestly this is a little ridiculous considering they had an extra month to work on it.  How about a little news if nothing else.

The PlayStation 3 release is still up in the air, Bethesda added on its blog today, because the company isn't satisfied with how it's running:

We are not satisfied yet with Dawnguard's performance on the PS3. We would like for everyone to have a chance to play Dawnguard, but we aren't going to release it for PS3 knowing that some people's experience in Skyrim will be worse. We do everything we can to have our content available to all; from our free updates, to user mods, to paid DLC. We're as disappointed as our fans when that isn't the case, but we'll continue to push for that reality.

I got it.  I haven't gotten into the new content yet, but I was annoyed to start it and see it flickering like crazy using Crossfire with my mobile 5870 cards in my laptop.  I haven't tried Catalyst 12.7 beta drivers yet because many people say they are just as bad, BUT I'm guessing that 1.7 and Dawnguard has been set-up to believe that Crossfire now works in the game.  Anyway, I just made a new application profile to disable Crossfire when playing and everything works fine.

A statement issued yesterday

Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard's status for PS3.

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we've been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated.

This is not a problem we're positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we'll keep doing our best to return that.
