[PC/360/Ps3] The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Impressions, tweaks and more!

Now, the real question: who will be playing Skyrim this weekend while wearing a loincloth made from a dish rag (or, in my case, a beach towel) and sporting a bucket on their head with horns stuck on the sides and made out of sticks from the yard?

I'll do you one better. I'll be playing Skyrim as Shlor, the Rockstar Caveman. Don't believe me? Wait until this weekend.

Is there any particular new feature or two that people are excited about in this sequel?  I'm excited to play this, but only because hey!  Another Elder Scrolls game!  I don't know what sets this apart from Morrowind & Oblivion other than graphics.

the fixed leveling system was a big factor for me. now you can dual wield spells and a sword or hell even mix n match spells now too. Not to mention the faces aren't ugly.

Yes Ron will post the review at 1pm GMT. I can't believe how ready I am for this game. After I first thought I would not buy it on day 1 at all now I can't wait and it has slowed time to a crawl.

I don't know why you think that.  Big games (and big movies - such as the new Harry Potter coming 11-11 as well) get moved to other release days this time of year.  That way you don't have Skyrim and MW3 hitting at the same time and you get a night of midnight release hype to yourself.

The downside in this case is that Bethesda apparently didn't do a very good job of making sure their retail partners understood the actual release date.  From the official forums there are plenty of reports of people walking into places today and seeing Skyrim already on the shelf because most places just assume games come out Tuesday.

If Bethesda just added machine guns, rocket propelled grenades and a really short and heavily scripted campaign to Skyrim, they could sell even more millions than they already will!

How is it bad news?  Elder Scrolls games are open worlds, you can play however you want, including never doing a single quest if you so choose.  Having a system that generates new quests gives something for folks who like having a bit more direction, even if that direction is collecting items for an NPC, or killing a local menace etc...

I'm with Hep. It sounds like it spawns bandits and baddies as well as just FedEx and fetch quests. So how is this a bad thing - given they will also have normal pre-made quests?
