DS outsells both PSP and PS2 combined in first week of Nintendogs release, Nintendo's handheld still on top a month later.

Could this game be another Animal Crossing?  A game that at first glance has vomit-inducing cute characters, you would have to immediately turn in your man-card if any of your friends saw you playing it, but at the same time is completely addicting and fun at the same time?  Or is it another whacky Japanese game that won't fly over here?  Hands on impressions from the usual suspects of gaming sites make it sound like the former...

I think I'll wait to hear some CG impressions on it before making the plunge, but I'm starting to have the feeling I'll be soon be teaching my virtual pooches how to screw the heck out of each other...

I thought the DS was dead in the water before E3, but now, I'm really looking forward to getting one as soon as the next wave of games comes out.  I can't wait for Mario & Luigi 2!
