Thank heavens it's coming to PS3 too. Sorry. Only Xbox 360 and PC. Not PS3.

The original Game Informer article revealing the game mentioned a possible PS3 release. Have they ruled that out?

The Grand Theft Auto games were also PS2 exclusives.
It MIGHTt come out on the PS3, but it would be a long wait if it did.

When a console game is called to exclusive to one platform, it just means it won't be on the other 2. It could still be on PC or one of the handhelds.

But Nintendo will have it no more, PS3 for teh win for next gen I think TML's point is that "exclusivity" can have different meanings whether its a timed exclusive like RE4's year gap between Cube and PS2 or a rebranding or gold edition of a title like one of the Dead or Alive tltles.

Oh yeah, I am with you there-I just wanted to point out that RE was moving consoles. I agree with the whole exclusivity thing. If PS3 is workable for Oblivion and some arbitrary exclusivity period lapses, I imagine they would seriously consider porting it, but I am also fairly sure that the vast differences in code and hardware would make the process a longer one rather than a shorter one.

And by then, I'll have a new PC and I'll be playing Oblivion with all the fancy new mods released for it.
Oh yeah, was there going to be mounted combat in game? I mean, you now can have mounts, so can you fight on horseback?
Also, anyone here familiar with Morrowind modding? How in depth could you mod Morrowind? Has anyone created an entirely new setting (say a scifi or western) for the game or is that even possible?

If I recall correctly, there are mounts, but you have to dismount to fight.

That's exactly what I meant. Basically, no matter what's "exclusive" at any given time can come out for anything else in the future. That's about it.

Surely if Link can do it on the Gamecube then Oblivion could?

No PS3 for you! They announced at X05 that Oblivion is an XBOX 360 exclusive. Man, this must have been like a formative conflict for Hetz. Think of all the horrific tension that went into this post, folks -- Hetz had to decide which of his masters got more pander: should it be fair Bethesda, maker of worlds so real they're just as boring as real life, or should it be strong Microsoft, bane of innovation, baron of Bigger-is-Better? Frankly, I'm surprised at the result! Whoa! This isn't going to be good when Hetz sees this zinger. /runs for cover

I know you can do better than that! You have already played the "masters" card before and quite honestly, IMHO you need to develop a new plan of attack. Never use the same verbal jab more than once, lest it lose it's potency. I do give your post a solid C+ for the effort though!

Advantage, Hetz! LE - I'm a Morrowind addict, and I cannot wait for Oblivion (without great anguish, longing, angst, and nearly physical pain)... and I have to support Hetz in this one... sorry, but I just don't get your animosity on the subject. :?

Plowing through guys is pretty cool in that. Though I don't really like the actual horse control, the mounted weapon handling is very good.
