Picked this up tonight to play with my 5-year-old daughter (she loves fighting games).  Had a blast with it.  It is basically the spiritual successor to Marvel vs. Capcom and is pretty approachable for newbies, but you can tell there is some depth there.  I have honestly only heard of the Battle of the Planets (Gatchaman) characters on the Tatsunoko side of things, but all the characters are pretty fun.  How can you not like pairing up Chun Li with Jun the Swan or Mega Man and Viewtiful Joe?  Controls are pretty simple, with only three attack buttons and your partner button to bring the partner in for combined super attacks and the like.  I've heard the online is very smooth, though I've not tried playing.

Any other Wii owners out there get this one?

Would you say the game is closer to Smash Bros. or Street Fighter?  I ask because I can't stand Street Fighter.

It's closer to Marvel vs. Capcom. slywink  I guess out of those two, it is a Capcom game, so it plays more like Street Fighter, just with the added layer of the partner system.

BIG fan of Marvel vs Capcom 2, so this one caught my eye.

Please give the online a whirl and let us know. I've heard wildly varying reports. With that said, I'm not sure I could play a fighter with the classic controller :/

Sounds like an awesome game, but I wonder why it went out only for the Wii...

Hope it makes it to the 360 and PS3.

I was just eyeing this yesterday.  The magic words "accessible" brought me to it.

I always get suckered in by fighting games and never play them.  The last one I remember enjoying was Soul Caliber 3 (and that includes the new Street Fighter that came out).  Oh, wait, I actually was having a good time with Blaz Blue.  It has an interesting SP story mode (very rare for a fighting game).

Is there any kind of decent single player game in TvC?

It is pretty basic stuff (fight some guys and beat a boss and they show you an "ending"), not like Blaz Blue.
