Talk me outta buying a 360....(I bought one)

I've wanted a 360 for a while now and I have the money but, I'm a little worried about the whole red ring thing.  They have several games that I like that I would buy with it.  My local BestBuy has several of the Halo 3 CE Xbox's, but the green's a little disturbing....  What should I do?

Life is full of risks.  Take one and buy a 360 - it's an excellent gaming system.

My 360 is a $400 Guitar Hero (and soon to be Rock Band) machine that gives me a nice blood pressure spike every time I turn it on.  But if you enjoy FPS, action, and sports games, then go for it.

Pick up one of the new HDMI models with better cooling and enjoy life!  (no need to get the green and bronze Halo edition)

Get the 360.  Odds are that you won't regret it.  If you can, buy it at Costco, or consider an extended warranty.  It's worth the risk.

The one wat Wal-Mart is like $18 and extends the 3 year warranty by 2 more years.

It's too noisy, it's too unreliable, you hate Microsoft because of Windows Vista and their inability to make a $400 console that doesn't overheat and break, and you'll hate yourself when the new thinner, quieter-GPU chip versions become the norm. Those might suffice (even if you don't believe any of it is really true ) if you want to merely delay the inevitable.  The last reason tends to be the one I give for continuing to wait, fwiw. 

I am just having fun, btw, so please don't shoot me. If you want a XBox360, I would just get one. I think the only place they would talk you out of it is at the official Playstation 3 forums.

Well, I went and bought a Pro system package, with Forza 2 and Marvel UA and bought a 2 year extended warranty .  I also bought another controller, the wireless interent thingy, Chrome Hounds, GRAW2, GoW, PGR4 and something else, lol, can't remember.

if you can hold out on 1 month cards, cc has had the 13 month card for $40, which is an excellent deal for live service.  it's what i did a few weeks back.  they have done this twice to my knowledge with the "collectible" halo card.

i think Circuit City was running that deal last week and it's no longer in effect as of today.  i'm not 100% certain of that, however, so it might still be worth checking for yourself.  if that doesn't pan out, Amazon has the 12-month Live card for $40 right now...still one of the best deals you'll find

If you are even a little patient, and understand eBay, the best deals are still there.  One year cards for $5 to $40 (or more if you don't understand eBay and get caught up in it, lol).  Enter - XBox Live subscription - as the search and you'll have tons to choose from.  Make sure the shipping is free, though!
