Superman demo out

Its EH  :icon_sad: Not as bad as the 64, but I'm not impressed.  Too bad to, I was really looking forward to it.  The flying is the only redeeming part of the game. I guess I'll just have to play more Viva Pinata, OH WELL!

Agreed that flying is the coolest part (they emphasize it in the super-long video, too).  I'm still on the fence.  It's not as glorious as I was hoping for, but it is about what I expected, which isn't bad.

i thought it was okay,but i would like to see more of metropolis,as those 4 'islands' were a bit drab...not very decent

hopefully when you get into the city of metropolis,it will be more like the spiderman games

Really? I thought it looked pretty good. Not my kind of game, but I thought, aside from some clumsy-looking animations, it was fairly impressive.

The demo didn't sell me completely but made me think about picking it up someday. I was disappointed in how poor the civilians are animated and their AI. Whats the point in saving them if they are all act alike drones.

If I swoop by I want them to be pointing and gasping, "Look up in the sky"! But I landed in a patch of them and they all just shambled by at the same snail pace. Reminded me of spiderman too. BORING!

I had fun playing the demo, but I'm hoping it was based on an earlier build as the graphics don't seem to be up to what I remember from the gameplay videos.  I wish the enviroment was more destructive-  slamming into a building at full superspeed should do a bit of damage.  Flying was fun but being in a limited area you really don't get a sense of speed, plus I hope you can fly up into space instead of having a glass ceiling.  I'm still going to grab it, worst case I'm out only 60 bucks (less if you count trade in value).

That's strange Scoop because when I landed near them they were like "Hey, look its Superman!" and "Go Superman!" and "Superman!" are few of the ones I heard no matter where I landed in Metropolis.  And the best part was after I creamed those robot things all the people in the vicinity were clapping and cheering and the music was triumphant.  It "felt" like Superman to me.  The flying is fantastic especially when you break through the sound barrier, which is really cool.

I loved the demo and can't wait to get the game next week.

the flying was a lot of fun, but I don't see the rest of the game holding up. I needed to see more from the demo. I did fly as high as I could, I was hoping to see stars but as high as I was(the town lost all detail and looked really small) you still couldn't see past the lower atmosphere. Very dissapointed in that... I mean what's the point of being Supes if you can't fly into space?

I have to admit, I have been playing it a lot.  Basically I love flying around and picking people up, then taking them as high as i can go.  Then flying down as fast as I can, crashing into the ground.  Obviously they dont get hurt when I do that, but I still think its funny going mach 1 towards the ground with a person in my arms.   I need help  Other than that, the game isint fun.  I will rent it just to compare the demo, I too have heard its an older build of the game.

I'm finding the demo to be pretty "meh".

The gamplay itself doesn't really inspire me, I had more fun just playing around in the world, but what you can do is pretty limited.
Graphics are pretty drab, I too would like to see some of the city proper in case the outer isles are supposed to be grey and dull.

In the end it doesn't feel very "next gen", just "lets make some bucks with this movie licence".

Good point, the demo first alerted me to this problem.  At first I thought it was Super Man.  not Superman.  But alas, the demo confirmed my great fear that this game did in fact feature the guy that originated wearing underwear over your pants

The good news for those of us who like to use our powers for awesome (destruction)...the full game apparently has a mode that allows you to play the Bizzaro version so you can go nuts on Metropolis.  Not that I will ever buy this game, it seems like it would have been mediocre at best a few years ago.

I thought the demo was pretty good, and looked good as well on the 360.  I don't think it'll be the best game in the world, but certainly a lot of fun.

Superman is also 'good', there is no debate, and no bringing people 1000 feet in the air to drop .

I thought it was the suck.  The sound was great.  The graphics were blocky with poor textures.  The combat seemed to be a bunch of pressing A over and over again.  It wasn't always easy to figure out what you were doing.  I guess it was a lot better than a punch to the balls.  I liked blowing up cars with heat vision and freezing civilians with cold breath.  I didn't like that you couldn't throw civilians or drop them from great heights.

Sounds like you guys are missing the point of being Superman and actually 'saving' the little guys .  I'll probably rent this.  It looked better then the Spiderman games to me.  Webslinging was amusing at first, but was a pain after a bit.  It was fun more fun to fly around the city.

Tried that.  Doesn't work 

Picked this up today, it's pretty fun so far.  Played through the tutorial and some of the first missions while waiting for the cable guy to come and give me my HD DVR.  Ran into one optional race, and it looks like those are going to be annoying.  It's basically follow a line through the city while hitting gates and you pretty much have to use super speed, which can be very frustrating.
