I'm trying to decide on an SRPG, and these two look good.  I can easily go out and buy Stella Deus now (though for more), but La Pucelle probably means I have to order it, or drive a bunch further.

La Pucelle also looks pretty ancient, even worse then Disgaea.  The graphics just don't appeal to me at all, while Stella Dues looks very good artwise.  I'm also having a bit of trouble imagining playing a 14 year old girl in La Pucelle.

Is La Pucelle really that much better then Stella Deus?

I really enjoyed Stella Deus.  It is basically the same team that developed Final Fantasy Tactics, and it has a very similar feel (right down to the same composer).  However, it does require a ton of power-levelling and patience to develop your characters, which I simply didn't have the time or patience for.  Many people also didn't care for the art style, but I thought it was beautiful.

I never really got into La Pucelle.  I played it right after Disgaea, and thought it was a big step backwards.

Well technically it came before Disgaea so Disgaea was actually a step forwards. smile

However, it does require a ton of power-levelling and patience to develop your characters,

Don't all these games require that though, including La Pucelle and Disgaea?
