T-Minus 24hours, 30 minutes. (assuming noon PST on last thursday of june still holds true).

I think CeeKay will likely populate the Steam deal thread with the deals. We can break out the discussions here. biggrin

[this space for rent]

[edit]

Apparently, CeeKay wants all the messages in the other thread, and doesn't want me in it.

KFINEBYE.

Has there been any confirmation beyond pattern matching? Could be in for a letdown.

An EA VP was caught whining about it about 3 weeks ago, so I'm guessing it's going to happen to spite them.

Funny, since he's basically Origin.

Even funnier was the 87% off sale on Origin a week later.

No... a discussion on the sale themselves... so that the deals can stay where they are, and the chatter can be here.

Yeesh.

Mods, can we get Hark moved to the portable forum? KTHXBYE!!

Where is the details on the sale?  I mean, we're saying tomorrow, where's the proof?

One is the deals. The other is NOT the deals, but what people recommend, etc.

I like to be able to look through the history of the deals, and having chatter explode the sale to a +120 pages for the few posts can get ... irritating, since the talk has nothing to do with the deals themselves.

In other words - the chatter is a derail to the other thread. Tongue It's welcome chatter, it's all good, but it doesn't belong THERE. biggrin

There isn't any proof yet. And there won't be - until all of a sudden Steam stops working as they push through an update that everyone and their dog piles on. I imagine it's going to be worse this time around since they had the gift stuff from xmas, and likely will be doing the same now.

oh, and explode +120 pages?  drama much?  I may just put extra chatter in there just to annoy you now.

Based on GAF research, conventional wisdom is the sale won't be starting tomorrow. Either the 4th/5th (seems less likely) or the 12th (which some developer mentioned). We'll see.

People are reporting late updates to a bunch of games so now people are feeling more encouraged that it will start tomorrow.

How long does the sale usually go for? I'm moving on the 11th of July so I don't want to miss any great deals.  If it started tomorrow then I could get in at least 11 days of sales.

There was an indie dev that posted that date on the Steam forums explaining that his game was released early to avoid being released during the sale when it started on the 12th. Can't remember the game, though...

All signs point to the 12th.  I'd be very surprised if it doesn't start then.
