And the big announcement from Incontrol is likely at nasl.tv. The assumption is that it stands for North American Star-League. There's nothing on the site right now but a countdown timer that ends sometime this afternoon.

so some days late, but since no one else posted(or probably cares) I'll post it up just in case.

50 players, 400k in cash prize, 100k, 100k, 200k for the first 3 tournaments. It's no wonder idra left, this is a shit ton of money that he has a very good chance to win. I'm not a huge fan of incontrol's casting, but he is quite hilarious. The other co caster is greotorp, or whatever the spelling is. They are going to try to get quest casters like djwheat and day9. Unfortanely it seems that shows will be prerecorded then played streaming later on. Unlike the gsl which is live. Probably won't be a big deal in the end.

Even if you don't play starcraft(hell, i haven't touched MP in months) they are pretty exciting to watch. So hopefully some people check this out come April. If you're in the area for the finals I highly suggest you try to go live. Watching matches live is totally different and such an awesome experience.

This is incorrect. The Idra/Jinro showmatch was pre-recorded only because it was taking place in Korea and there was no way to stream it live without the casters causing lag for the players.

NASL matches will be shown live, confirmed by Incontrol on Team Liquid.

There will be rebroadcasts of the recorded stream later, but that's to allow Europeans a good time to view the matches.

Got a link? All of the people actually involved with creating the league have said live games.

***Ok, They had Russel Pfister on State of the Game and they cleared up all the details on this.

The commentating/casting will be done "live" in that they will actually be in the games in observer mode, but it will in fact be recorded one day and aired the next.

So.. we're both right, although you more than me. The show we watch will not involve live games, but it also isn't being cast from replays so they'll avoid the synch issues they had with the Jinro/Idra showmatch. That last part is by far the most important part to me. I could care less if the game itself is live as long as we don't have to worry about the funky thing where the commentary isn't in sync with the game we're watching. That was a mess.

meh, ign is an awful site. I don't know see anyone(at least on gaf) even considering IGN outside major matches. Between GSL and NASL, not to mention mlg(lol yeah right, they suck) there's too much SC2 already. I seriously have barely enough time to watch GSL. It's great that these games are finally taking off in the west, but...yeah ign lol.
