Greeting long forgotten thread and quite possibly players. I'm here to tell you of a new custom game that quickly gained popularity. This game is called Star Battle. Yes you thought right, it's giant space ships fighting crazy battles.

Just played a few games and it's pretty fun. there's a few elements to countering and stuff, helping the team out and what not. I think the video speaks for itself.

I highly, HIGHLY recommend anyone check out starjeweled. I can't not stress how awesome and fun that was to play. The best thing is, you don't even need to know how to play Sc2 to have fun! I got 2 people at blizzcon who don't play SC2 to play and they dug it. The chef one looked awful and left 2 die is just that one mission but coop.

I got pulled back in playing with some guys from work this weekend.  Boy was I rusty.  But I had forgotten how deep and fun the multiplayer is in this game.  We played some comp stomps to get me up to speed. And I had a blast even though I sucked hard.

The reason I never got into online play is that my current computer just can't run the game.  I am planning on playing this online frequently after Christmas when I (hopefully) get my new PC. Which will be able to run the game at above minimum settings.

You realize I and most GTers have the attention span of chipmunks when it comes to most new games (even Blizzard games), right?   Sometimes I'd get a game that people were excited about here, maybe a month or two after release, and everyone had already moved on. It doesn't necessarily mean people don't love the game per se.

I loved SC2's campaign, but since the MP is "destroy everything on the map" rather than interesting objectives or story, it didn't interest me long-term whether comp-stomp or versus.

I dunno if I'll bother with the upcoming other SC2 games because I really only ever got into playing as the Terrans. Just could never quite wrap my brain around the Protoss and Zergs, and how to play competently as them (I don't pretend to play "well" as anything in SC1 or 2.

I do float back to see what custom creations players come up with from time to time. I just never found anything that really hooked me, even if I was impressed with the variety that people came up with.

Been playing a huge amount of Star Battles. I seem to be best at using the Leviathan ship. With the others I seem to die more than live. With the Zerg though I do well.

hopefully soon. i honestly don't know what's taking them so long. the game was pretty much done from what I played. I bet they're going to release them all at once. No one was playing ajur chef so maybe they are redoing that one.

A friend of mine has just about gone bronze to diamond in a month. He's like 205/165, 2500+ rated Platinum. I figure if he keeps playing he might have another week or two before he hits Diamond.

if anyone is up and semi interested. Jinro vs Idra is starting in about 10 minutes. the 2 foreigners left playing to go into the final four. This will be the farthest any foreigner has made it(final four that is). Regardless, it's going to be an amazing match.

World of Starcraft is now Starcraft Universe. 

    * A wide variety of monsters, bosses, and character classes. SCU classes include: Infantry, Special-Ops, Demolition, and many others.
    * A game save system. These maps will allows players to create, save, and load existing characters (a unique function uncommon to custom StarCraft maps).

Matchmaking has been updated to better match players queuing with pre-made teams in 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 brackets.

Fixed an issue where the title of a conversation window was scaling rather than truncating.
Fixed an issue where the Match History score screen was displaying "Null" for the map info for all games played before Patch 1.2.
Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause players to be improperly disconnected from a game.
(Mac) Fixed an issue that would cause the Control key to become stuck when holding Control and minimizing the game window, then going back to the game window and attempting to use Control+1 to create a control group.
Maps
Fixed an issue with foliage that would die and become visible through the fog of war when a player spawned as zerg.
StarCraft II Editor
Fixed an issue where copied-and-pasted units were not set to the correct height in-game.
Fixed an issue where the table view scroll-bar position was reset when switching objects.
Fixed an issue where secondary sort priorities were not working properly. Model name is now the secondary sort so that models are listed in alphabetical order after being sorted by the mod they are contained in.

I fired this up briefly last night and found my last save was in the middle of a mission where I had no clue what was going on, it's been so long since I played.
