Good Jeebus, I've FINALLY downloaded the game and I'm now installing!!!! 

After three days of downloading the game client in spurts (that Blizzard downloader has issues!), I will be playing shortly.

I'm damn pleased to report that the game has installed without a hitch. And I just played the first 3 campaign missions!! There's not much I can add to whatever has been said already: Graphics: Pretty!! Cutscenes: Gorgeous!! The in-between mission bar and Hyperion bridge 'sets': Very ni-ce touch!! Vibe: Good-Olde Starcraft feeling! I'm very pleased to be finally playing.

Why did it take so long to download? The Blizzard downloader was a bitch. On Wednesday morning, I turned off 'peer-to-peer' downloading and clicked on 'dont throttle my download'. I was sure I would get the game downloaded by the time I got home that evening... Instead, I was welcomed by the heart-sinking event that the downloader simply had stopped downloading after getting around 1.5GB of the game. No progress was made whatsoever for the rest of the day!!

I started hacking again on the download that evening, but had to turn on p2p and had to let it download normally. It was coming at an absolute trickle! To make matters worse, whenever I exited the downloader so as to be surf the net or play some other game, the downloader simply wouldn't close and it had to be manually terminated... This made matters worse, as now I was losing download progress because of files being downloaded corrupted. On Thursday, I downloaded half the game.. only to lose 30% of that download once I closed the downloader! On Friday evening, I got home and had 75% of the game downloaded, but the downloader gave me a 'some files failed to save' message (in other words, corrupted files).. Had to close the downloader again but luckily, I didn't lose much ground. I went out last night to see a movie and by the time I got home around midnight, it was 95% done. I went to bed while it finished downloading.

I deserved a f'ng Gamer's badge or something.

Yeah, I downloaded the game in a few hours a couple of days before the game came out.  Not sure why PR had so many issues.

same here, but I grabbed it Monday evening.  EddieA mentioned having a slow download and I told him about turning off P2P and it worked for him just fine after that.  Blizzard just didn't want PR to play early

It's no secret that in some missions you have a choice as to who to fight for . Well the ones I don't choose I go to Youtube and watch the cinematics for. The one where you choose Nova has got to be one of the funniest ones  I've seen yet. the ending for that line I mean. Poor Tychus lol.

Hahaha I just played the Protoss mission where you defend you base from waves of Zerg attacks till everyone dies. I had to take my carriers and kill off my own army because the Zerg could never do anything to me. And this was on normal dif. I had 199 units the whole time.

it's a custom game 4v4 where you build buildings that spawn units that head towards the other base. you can only control the scv. you have to kill the other teams nexus. it's pretty fun especially if you're team is well coordinated. we were all on vent, so far some reason none of us could get in game chat to work.

Sweet. After reading this I looked it up on Youtube. Seems theres a cheesy way to play if you're on the bottom. Might have to try it.

If you keep at it, you eventually just get tons of super units (I won't say what to avoid spoilers) and they wipe out everything you have. That and an inordinate amount of Nidus Worms popping up everywhere. That mission was LONG because of this.

hmm, me and friend always go bottom and never cheesed it up. well maybe we did unknownly. we discovered a few good strats. you basically gotta pick 2 races that compliments. if you go prot and prot you will die. protoss are just too slow to get units out. basically any race you choose you want it to be different than your partner. when you build buildings you want the units of the same kind to spawn roughly at the same time so you have a huge wave going down at once instead of trickling.

I like that the showcase is configurable to spotlight 5 things. Though I have nothing really worth of spotlighting.   If you change a Showcase item in bnet, and then refresh the profile browser page, it'll grab the change.

After combing through details a bit, I realized you don't get any achievement points for co-op against Easy AI opponents.

I was thinking "Cool, I get to see what Kerrigan's ultimate fate is. Do Raynor and Kerrigan get to 'shack up' again? Does Kerrigan become an 8-armed bartender? Does Raynor find a way to separate her human and Zerg sides, kill the human side but then find her human spirit is now trapped in the Zerg physical body, upon which great comedy ensues ("Oooh! Come back here you crazy Queen of Blades!")?" Clearly I read too many comic books.  

And then I remembered there's two more SC2 "games" to go. I'm only about 5-6 missions in myself.

From my experience you do get a new unit based on the mission you take. Right now my lack of Siege Tanks really seems to be kicking my arse, but I don't know what mission gives that or how to work over to that.  

That said, there's probably not a "right way" or a "wrong way" to choose missions. You just do what's fun. Have fun tonight, Wang Chung tonight.

yup, i've done 8? and haven't hit that one yet.  as i said before, it's unfortunate that you can't revisit old missions with new toys without starting a new character, at least not as a replay.
