I just just my pre-order for the CE addition on Amazon and noticed they are no longer selling the CE edition. Glad I got my order in early. Probably can sell the WoW pet Thor to recoup my cost of the game
you don't want a mini thor?

Hey didn't think of that. Wonder what they will go for?
Probably a lot. Blizzard fans are crazy in wanting stuff like that.

you don't want a mini thor? It's nice to have, but the pets I currently have on my toon I rarely ever break out. It's a novelty item... I could double my money with the one item..

And the fun begins with REAL ID: http://asnowstormbyanyothername.blogspot.com/An excerpt from the creepyness: Here's some information on his wife, Nina Jill Kotick (nee Spiegel), age 46, Fordham University '89 (Law), Tufts University '86, Byram Hills High School '82. She used to be a lawyer in New York, passing her NY bar exam in 1990, but later moved with Bobby to CA and got her license in December 1995. With the exception of the time she forgot to pay her bar fees in '99 (Oops!) and her license was suspended, it's been smooth sailing. If you want to reach her, try (310) 255-2639, (310) 279-3599, or email her at [email protected]The beautiful family's current address is either 1010 or 1011 Cove Way. They own or owned both but surely they don't need two houses, do they? 1011 Cove Way, Beverly Hills, California 90210 They spent $171,708 for renovations a few years ago, nice place! It's about to get bad I think...

I am also selling the mini Thor!
I'm debating on doing this or just keeping it. If they go for about 200 then I'll be spending 100 to make 100, and right now 100 bucks isn't that big of a deal and having it for a pet whenever I get back to wow would be neat.

My wife and I have two WoW accounts, both of which are in her name. I shudder to think of the stalking/harassment/whoknowswhat that would result if I posted something on the WoW forums and 10,000 idiots think "Oh man! A CHICK that plays WoW!"

There is an inadvertent and funny typo... GameSpot quotes from the Wall Street Journal (subscription required), which states that Activision Blizzard spent over $100 million (not including marketing) on the new StarCraft II series. To put things into perspective, Gran Turismo 5 cost $60 to develop, and that was one of the most expensive games to date. So GT5 only cost $60 to develop? Man, I would say that Blizzard really upped the ante here...

I find the "Pillars" description amusing. Me thinks the Activision Blizzard CEO is in danger of sounding like an Egyptian Pharoah, maybe played by Yul Brynner... Not including marketing, I divided $100 million by SC2's (the Terran release anyway) rough price of $60. It comes out to 1,666,667 (in keeping with Diablo's Satan fixation) copies sold just to break even. If you throw in, I dunno, $30 million for marketing and say it's $130 million, than it blasts up to 2,166,667 copies to break even. Outside of MMOs, I'm hard pressed to think of any PC-only titles that have sold in those numbers in years. Blizzard, you better damn well hope pirates don't figure out your game in Asia (lord knows there's millions of SC2 sales at stake) and that PC game sales are alive and well.

A lot of that was also the new battlenet servers and backend.
CG work on this level is expensive as well.
Overall though, $100 million price tag sounds more like waste rather than quality at this point. It's still a blizzard project, but I find it difficult to believe $100 million unless they were just wasting money at some point, or paying some people way too much.

From Wikipedia. List of Best-selling PC games of all time: The Sims (16 million shipped)[1] The Sims 2 (13 million)[2] The Sims 2: Pets [expansion pack] (5.6 million)[3] The Sims 2: Seasons [expansion pack] (1 million)[3] World of Warcraft (at least 11.5 million)[4] StarCraft (11 million)[5] Half-Life (9.3 million,[6][7] may include PS2 version) Half-Life: Opposing Force [expansion pack] (1.1 million)[6][7] Half-Life 2 (6.5 million,[6][7] may include Xbox version but does not include Steam sales) Myst (6 million)[8] SimCity 3000 (5 million; includes Sim City 3000 Unlimited edition)[9] Doom (5 million)[10] The Sims 3 (4.6 million, includes PC and Mac sales)[11] The Sims 3: World Adventures [expansion pack] (1.2 million pre-order) Diablo II, by the way, sold over 4 million copies. I think it's safe to say 'Starcraft 2' will meet their sales expectations.

I've yet to try the beta on it, but even my laptop should power through this game just fine. That makes me happy.
And I too plan to sell the WoW pet if it's possible. Though I suspect it will be linked to whatever account your register Starcraft 2 with and you won't be able to do anything with it.
