And all they needed to do was make a kinect game where I could kill bad guys (or good guys) while flailing my arms around pretending I'm wielding a lightsaber, using an occassonal force push gesture, or choke, or force lightning, and I would've been happy.  Basically Jedi Knight/Sith Lord with lightsaber and force powers via Kinect gestures.  How in the world did they screw that up?

I actually think it's pretty hilarious.  They even have names for the dance moves that are Star Wars references.  Lobot is a DJ.  Pretty damn funny.

I'm confused.  Is the dance mode a full fledged mode in the game?  Is it an easter egg unlock or something?  I saw the trailer playing in BestBuy but I didn't see any dancing.  Are there any reviews/impressions of the game yet?

This Star Wars Kinect dancing video looks like a direct feed, as opposed to someone pointing a camcorder at their television.  The same user has other videos of the on-rails lightsaber fighting shown off at last year's E3, so if this is a mock-up, it's a darn good one.

I'm not surprised.  I would buy it if it were a full fledged dance game for the campy value.  It makes sense since Dance Central is the only good game for Kinect.

I guess I gave up hope a long time ago of getting something awesome that the initial trailer sort of indicated.  Still no proof that a hardcore game can be done on Kinect.  Maybe the Mech game by From Software but I won't be holding my breath.

Did they not think they would sell enough copies if they focused all of their effort and talent into designing a good lightsaber combat game using the kinect?  That's all they had to do.  Instead they chose to do a collection of bad minigames.  Maybe this game was never going to be a fun, lightsaber combat game.

My guess, they started off making a serious light saber game then realized that kinect is too laggy for responsive combat and there is no clean way to deal with player movement other than making it on-rails if you don't have access to a gamepad.  So they fell back to what the Kinect does do really well, Dance Central.

i have just rewatched the prequel trilogy...while yes TPM and AOTC are pretty bad(especially when compared to star wars films),but ROTS is nearly on par with the original trilogy,its fucking brilliant!!..there,i have said it(again)

Watching Star Wars yesterday and i must admit,Family Guy has spoilt that film somewhat,even though i loved the spoofs when Luke and Han are defending the Millenium Falcon,i sang along like Peter did to the music...da-da-da-da-da...and "There's no life forms aboard. I'm more embarrassed at the way people are reacting to this dance stuff than anything in the game. The dance stuff is funny. Just as funny as if Jesus got off the cross and did a dance number with the two other people on crosses backing him up. People would be just as upset at that and I'd think they were silly, too. It's okay to make light of things.

so, did anyone actually pick this up?  I know my wife had this in her hands the other day and was very close to getting it for the kids.  it sounds like it might be good for a quick laugh, but I already have a game that gets the kids out flaying their arms in random motions and it only cost 800 points.  this doesn't seem like enough decent content to warrant a purchase until it hits the bargain bins.
