Spore Question

This is a sound question.

Through the speakers I get snapping and popping with the sound on Spore.
Through the ear phones the sound is perfect.

Is there a reason for this? Is there a way to correct this through the speakers?

That sounds like a hardware problem with the speakers themselves, but I assume you have no problems with other games?
Are you using onboard sound or a sound card?
My son plays Spore a lot, and he had sound issues similar to yours, but it was accompanied by choppy graphics, so we upgraded his CPU and graphics card and now it works fine.

I had that problem with Spore. It happens with a few other games (Demigod, I'm looking at you), but definitely not all.

I am using onboard sound.
Dosen't happen with any other games so far.
Graphics run fine.
I am runninng a dual core so speed shouldn't be a problem.

So guess it is probably the onboard sound.

The conventional solution would be to make sure that EAX and Hardware sound options are off.  If that doesn't work reduce Windows Audio Hardware Acceleration by one notch.

Seems like my last windows update removed my Realtek Toolbox etc. Just empty folder.

Got everything back to normal by switching to Microsoft Live Chat LX3000, not sure why but it works.
