rumored for reveal this week as a direct sequel to Conviction.  I found the previous game to not be so bad once I got around to playing it, hopefully this one doesn't take 4 or so years to be released.  the lovely Jade Raymond talked about the next game in March:

Quote
"It will have all of the action flick elements for sure, but we're trying to also explore something a little bit more interesting that is actually one of the themes that's at the root of the franchise historically, but never has been surfaced so much," Raymond told CVG. "I can't really say more on this!"

I found the mechanics in Conviction to be better than any other entry. I hope they continue down that path with the new game.

while I love CT the most out of the series, I did enjoy conviction.  I don't consider it a stealth game in the same mold though, more like a stealth assassin game.  sounds like they are going the same route.  bummed that it isn't a return to the old ways, but if they make a game as fun as conviction turned out to be, I'll bite.

I feel the same way about the series, as CT was my favorite followed closely by DA for Xbox original. I howerver, didn't enjoy Conviction much at all. It looks like with this latest they've taken almost all of the skill out of it. I'm thinking I'm going to be OUT on this.

You get two working engines.  The other two are DLC.

Why word on what this beast of a box will cost?

I'm 94% through SR4 (almost all 1000+ collectables found!).  If you like Crackdown, you'll love SR4.  It's good that I have it this early too - I didn't want to pick between Blacklist and SR4.

heh, I figured if I loved SR3 I'd love SR4, but the likeness to Crackdown is a pleasant bonus.  I figure I'll get both on release date and see which gets finished first; I'm getting Blacklist for free so it looks like I'll have some decent gaming for cheap.

of course The Bureau also comes out the same day.... and fall semester starts the 19th  *Fist Shaking*

Did anyone buy this for the PC off of UPlay, and if so, has it unlocked for you?  I've restarted, relogged in and all I see in Conviction from the the deluxe package....

in case yours hasn't show up, I don't think it released until 1pm EST, which was an hour or so after you posted:

I'm getting my copy off of uPlay (got it for free from nVidia).  What I had to do was go to the store, log into my account, then hover the mouse pointer over where is says my account in the upper right hand corner to select 'my order history' from the drop down.  if you look under the order for Blacklist you should see a game key.  take that, start up uPlay, then click on the cog in the upper right hand corner.  select activate product, enter the key, and then click on the game in the games page to start downloading.

Which was lame because the order receipt and the webpage said nothing about a time, just a date.  And Steam had it the day before but unlocked today.

I finally got my keycode, not because they notified me, because I had to go find it myself after several attempts.  Why can't developers just use STEAM?  It's a proven system.

Classic, got a couple of matches in on the WiiU. Unfortunately the game seems to like locking up the system online, so I will be doing some research regarding this.

I love the gamepad for this game. It's simple, but just touching the gear you want to use on the opsat is pretty nice.

Install disc one, then put the 2nd disk in and install the hd texture pack from ingame. Then install disk2 from the dash. I did d1,d2, then hd pack. And no worky:(. I read online and for some unstated, to my knowledge, reason that's the only way it works... Seems like a great game though, two hrs after I started this process. Ill be down for some mp!

So after that annoying slow start...this game is awesome. I loved the old thief games, and of course the first 3 SC games. Didn't touch the ones since then base on reviews. This one tops them all. Of what I played of course. Can't wait to try out mp and coop... And I wanted to sleep alot tonight. Sigh.

So for those playing this, how would you say it compares to Chaos Theory?  That was the last Splinter Cell game I played since they've kind of taken the series in a different direction.

I have it on PC, and there's a lot of info hitting you and the hints and tips move way to fast making it hard to know what you need to do.  The keyboard controls feel a little awkward, and I'm thinking of trying to play with it with my controller.  Graphically it's great.

The game supports different play styles, so it's hard to tell you how it feels because I don't know how your playstyle is.  I try to be stealthy but there's been a few times that failed and had to revert to shootouts.  I'm playing on realistic and it's not too forgiving, and you don't last long when getting shot (a welcome change to action games)

Oh and the dogs creep me out.

I was planning on waiting until  this went on sale, but I might just have to pull the trigger sooner. I'll be buying it from Steam for sure - do not like Uplay, too many bad experiences.

hate to tell you, you'll still be playing it on Uplay

You can buy it on steam but it still takes you to uplay to launch it, just like Far Cry 3 did.
