to add to the list of delayed games that Take Two announced a week or two ago,it now seems its Ubisofts turn

although,i suppose this isn't all that bad for PS3 owners Tongue

Splinter Cell:Conviction and Red Steel 2 have both been delayed to 2010

http://kotaku.com/5323801/splinter-cell-conviction-and-red-steel-2-slip-to-2010

Quote
The fall gaming season grows sparser still today, as Ubisoft announces the delay of Splinter Cell Conviction and Red Steel 2, with I am Alive and Ghost Recon slipping into the next fiscal year.

Splinter Cell Conviction and Red Steel 2, two of the breakout titles from this year's E3 Expo, won't be making their original 2009 release dates, according to Ubisoft's first-quarter 2009 sales report. The two titles are now slated for release in the 4th quarter of 2009, which in Ubisoft's case places their release sometime in the window of January to March 2010. Two additional titles, I am Alive and Ghost Recon, have been pushed to fiscal year 2010-2011, which kicks off in April of 2010.

"We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long-term interests of Ubisoft. Lastly, we are having to adjust our full-year targets to take into account the fall in business over the first half. The excellent response to our games at E3, as well as the high buzz generated for titles such as Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell Conviction and Avatar, reinforce our belief that the company can achieve strong growth in the second half of the fiscal year."

On the bright side, we should have plenty of money to buy presents for other people this Holiday season, right?

2010,looks like it could rival 2007 for a great year in games

i was looking forward to Splinter Cell, although i have never really got into a past SC game, this one looked amazing

And it looks like 2009 could rival 1976.*

So what is coming out this holiday season? Guess it's going to be a lot of MW2.

Splinter Cell delayed AGAIN?

this was supposed to be out what, fall 07?, then spring 08, then 'when it's done', then didn't it get bumped to fall 09 from spring earlier this year?

delays like this one has seen do not make me very confident in the dev atm.

it's starting to look kinda barren. Right now other than Batman there are no 'must haves' for me until October.

Well the game was completely remade from the ground up.  The current incarnation will have been in development for just over two years when it releases in the spring.

borderlands and brutal legends. my 2 most anticipated titles.

i for one like that the industry isn't going to eat itself this year. this is how it should be. whether they blame it on their projections or what not, i think they realize launching a billion games in a month probably isn't a good idea anymore.

Dark Void has now been delayed too. Although I don't think the excitement level was quite as high for that one smile

Bad Company 2 delayed to March 2010. Guess that is for the best, though, because it was originally scheduled to come out within a month of MW2.
