This didn't quite fit in with the other thread, so I'm throwing it in a new one:
So, which songs are likely to make it on to The Beatles: Rock Band? First of all, here are their number 1 hits, most of which will make it on to the collection.
"Love Me Do" "From Me to You" "She Loves You" "I Want to Hold Your Hand" "Can't Buy Me Love" "A Hard Day's Night" "I Feel Fine" "Eight Days a Week" "Ticket to Ride" "Help!" "Yesterday" - VERRRRY BIG if. Maybe it will, but it's not really along with the whole aesthetic of Rock Band. It might make it just for completism. "Day Tripper" "We Can Work It Out" "Paperback Writer" "Yellow Submarine" - I really don't see this one on the compilation. How would you play it? "Eleanor Rigby" - No way, unless there are violins and cellos in Rock Band. "Penny Lane" "All You Need Is Love" "Hello, Goodbye" "Lady Madonna" "Hey Jude" - Too much piano to play. "Get Back" "The Ballad of John and Yoko" "Something" "Come Together" "Let It Be" - See "Hey Jude." "The Long and Winding Road" - See "Let It Be."
So that's 21 songs, with 1 possible song. What else could they use? An album-by-album perusal comes up with these possibilities:
From "Please Please Me:" "I Saw Her Standing There" "Twist and Shout" "Please Please Me" - A Britain number 1, so it's more than likely in.
From "With The Beatles:" "All My Loving" - Has to be in. "Money (That's What I Want)" - It's on the bubble.
From "A Hard Day's Night:" "I Should Have Known Better"
From "Beatles For Sale:" "No Reply" - Most of the usable songs from this album are #1 hits.
From "Help!" "You're Going to Lose That Girl" "The Night Before" "Another Girl"
From "Rubber Soul:" "Drive My Car" "Nowhere Man" - Perfectly bouncy bass track makes this a must have. "I'm Looking Through You"
From "Revolver:" "Taxman" - A must-have. "Good Day Sunshine" "And Your Bird Can Sing" "Tomorrow Never Knows" - Probably not, but might get in just because of the drums.
From "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts:" "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band/With A Little Help From My Friends" "Good Morning Good Morning"
From "The White Album:" "Back in the U.S.S.R" "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" - No way this ISN'T getting in. "Birthday" "Yer Blues" - Please put it in. "Helter Skelter" - Ditto with this one.
From "Yellow Submarine:" "It's All Too Much" - A little known George Harrison tune, but there isn't much from this album that's usable. A dark horse, if you'll excuse the pun.
From "Abbey Road:" "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" "Here Comes The Sun"
From "Let It Be:" "Get Back"
B-Sides: "I'm Down" - This would be really fun to play. "Rain" "Don't Let Me Down" - Probably won't make it in because of the importance of the piano playing. "Revolution"
That's 32, plus the 21/22 from up above. There's a rumor that it will include 45 tracks, but that's pure speculation at this point. Discuss.

No mention of "Golden Slumbers/ Boy You're Gonna Carry That Weight / The End"?
I think those (as a group) would make a great addition. Seems to me it covers the 3 main struments + Harmonization on the last set of vocals. Plus the horns would give a break to the palyers for a few bars.

Those are great songs, but there's a lot of piano in them, especially in Golden Slumbers. I don't know how you'd do that in a Rock Band setting.

all the songs listed are great....as well as those songs,i wouldnt mind seeing some of their early covers(kinda like how GH:Aerosmith and GH:Metallica have other artists)...i would love to hear the Macca scream of Long Tall Sally...kinda like a 'Im Down' moment it will also be interesting to see how well they support this game with DLC,seems that at the moment for the current RB game there is DLC every week without fail,if half of these songs dont make it to the retail version then i would definetly like them to be DLC...then again they could release half of these songs and milk the whole thing for a year with the rest of the songs or even solo stuff(some GH solo stuff would be good...GH=George Harrison, not Guitar Hero..although he is one of my guitar hero's ) and i know i maybe in the minority here, but i am all for Free As A Bird and Real Love as well(Hmm,Real Love i think is more piano)..But i think FAAB would be quite fun to play,as it has a pretty cool guitar riff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s332Tt0zxYsEDIT:LOL@Bull

I have a quick Rock Band question: can you do two "parts" at the same time, playing solo? I don't mean me, I can barely walk and chew gum concurrently! However, if someone was good at Guitar Hero, and could sing, and loved the Beatles - could they play and sing at the same time?

It's definitely not easy, but provided you have a mic stand you can do it. The only real difficulty is if you have to tap the mic for percussion at the same time as you're doing guitar, though I have pulled it off before by using my elbow or to bang the mic. I only recommend it for songs you know very very well, because it's difficult to watch the phrase timing and the notes at the same time. As far as the track list goes, I'm one of those who don't believe the Beatles ever recorded a bad song, so it doesn't matter to me. They could pick 45 songs at complete random out of a hat and I'd be thrilled.

The person I'm thinking of can play guitar and sing (two things I cannot do) and is a big Beatles fan (knows a lot of the songs already), so that sounds like it will work. That's good to know about the mic stand, though - I never would have thought of that.

Change the game a bit to tap out the piano ala GH?

Chaz's people have announced 15 more of the featured songs: The 15 new songs for The Beatles: Rock Band and the venues they are featured in are:
Twist And Shout / Cavern Club Do You Want To Know A Secret / Cavern Club Can't Buy Me Love / Ed Sullivan Theater I Wanna Be Your Man / Ed Sullivan Theater Eight Days A Week / Shea Stadium Paperback Writer / Budokan And Your Bird Can Sing / Budokan Yellow Submarine / Abbey Road Dreamscape Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band* / Abbey Road Dreamscape With a Little Help from My Friends* / Abbey Road Dreamscape Within You Without You / Tomorrow Never Knows / Abbey Road Dreamscape Revolution / Abbey Road Dreamscape Birthday / Abbey Road Dreamscape Dig A Pony / Rooftop Concert I've Got A Feeling / Rooftop Concert
The two asterisked tracks are apparently played as one track within the game, but used as two for the purposes of Harmonix marketing.

Is the release date holding firm? I saw Sept. 9 on more than one site... which would be funny because it works out to 09-09-09, no matter what country you are from. Sounds like something from all the "White Album" and "Paul is Dead" rumors! Maybe they will come out of retirement that day, just for MS!
