I have not heard anyone mention this one yet.

I'm actually picking this one up today or tomorrow depending on when it hits the stores.  This looks pretty interesting.  Pretty much a Pokemon-styled game set in space.  You have to actually go from planet to planet looking for the Spectrobes in fossilized form.  Using the DS stylus, you have to carefully excavate using various digging tools (help me out PeteRock you geology head) and you even use the DS microphone to blow the dust off the fossil.  From what I read you have to be careful excavating as you can break the fossil and lose the Spectrobe.  Once excavated, you have to incubate and reanimate the Spectrobes, which are very similar to dinosaurs.  Apparently, you need these to fight the Krawl, which are the main enemy in the game.  I believe there will be over 100 variants of the Spectrobes to collect and cultivate.  I looked at some vidoes at IGN and the battling looks like a lot of fun.

Looks very interesting and I'm psyched for it.  The story also looks to be good.  Does anyone else have any other info?  I believe the company doing this game is the one that made Kingdom Hearts Chains of Destiny or whatever that Kingdom Hearts game for the GBA was called.

I will post some impressions as soon as I can.

Wow.  I can't believe there is nobody else interested in this title.

I'm interested in this one, Shifty.  You're not alone.  I am waiting on reviews, though (and some impressions, so get to it).

I'm interested in this one, too.  But I didn't think it was out until next week.  They'd be great if I could get it sooner.

This thread is the first I've heard of it.  Bring on the impressions, though, as I seem to never tire of finding new ways to empty my wallet.

I preordered it and it should be in today.  I'm checking Gamestop after work.  If worst comes to worst I will have it tomorrow and start firing up those impressions (yes, Starshifter-type impressions! icon_rolleyes)

It was suppose to come out on March 13th but for some reason it was pushed up a week!  icon_biggrin

Yeah, me too.  Considering the GT forums turned me on to Lunar Knights just before it was released, I'm giving this one a look as well.

It looks interesting to me.  I especially like the idea of digging out the spectrobes - seems like a good fit for the DS's unique features.

In regards to those screen shots; WOW now that's real DS eye candy!
I remember someone posting previews on some other game site forum a few months ago and the general buzz was good.

Since the DS gets far too little 3rd party love, I'm awaiting the reviews for this one.

Sorry, no. I only messed with it very briefly because he was having trouble with the procedure to unearth stuff.
There are large, medium, and small drills. With large, you circle around the outside. Small is used for fine detail. To describe the medium drill's use, think about a potato peeler. You kind of scrape it along an area and "peel" dirt and crud away.

I didn't really do anything else. Game looks good, though from the next room the sound is annoyingly repetitive.
I did see him in a battle with some cool looking plant things that looked like Audrey from Little Shop (you can see them in one of Shifty's screens). Some of the monsters were giving him a nasty time in the early going, so the game is no cakewalk, at least early.

One thing no one has mentioned is that the game includes plastic trading cards (no they are not going to be sold, from what I've read) with holes in them. Once the right tools become available in the game, you can unlock special creatures by tapping the stylus in the holes in the right order. The game comes with four of the cards and there's a special pack-in at EB/GS. Other retailers may or may not have the same thing.

FWIW, I think Disney has designs on this being a HUGE franchise. Make no mistake, this isn't just a game, it is an IP.

+1. I flipped past the cartoon a couple weeks ago. They're posturing to be the next Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh.
