Can anyone comment on XP Service Pack 2 and PC Gaming as far as incompatabilities goes now that it has been out a while?
I have read that it causes a lot of problems with games and I am hesitant to install it until I hear from gamers that have had this running ok.
Any advise is appreciated!

I haven't had any problems, but I haven't been playing a lot of older games lately. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if I were you. Rome Total War runs just fine with it

Here's a list compiled at Microsoft (general software, but includes a couple of games).

No problems here. Freedom Force is the major one that doesn't work as far as I remember.

I've had zero problems. Just look at the list and if none of the games are on it then go ahead with it.

Wow that's a big list...I'm glad I haven't installed this. Any solution for any of these or for Freedom Force ?!?

There are only two games on the list: Freedom Force and NBA Live 2000. The rest are for older versions of software that conflict with the firewall. If you keep your programs up to date, you shouldn't have any problems.
The security benefits (especially with data execution prevention tech.) of this SP far outweigh the trouble it causes with out of date programs.
