I have some concerns:
The stages seem to be almost exact copies of the stages in SC3, and that makes me quite confused. Sure they look a little better, but... wtf? I think I haven't unlocked all the stages yet, but it's coming along.

I dont even remember when this game used to be fun anymore.

It was back in 99 i believe.

Yep.  1999. The Dreamcast.

Most certainly not in 2008.

I am glad I rented this p.o.s. first, cause maaaaan oh man...  drop $70 for THIS?! Haha..  Christ.

I will say that, though I've been compelled to play for a couple of hours, I'm not nearly as engrossed as I was by SC2.  It feels like a chore more than fun (not that it's not fun, it's just more like 60/40 now).

Honestly, the character creation mode is overwhelming.  That'll probably be good for some folks, but its not a clear as it should be, and the number of things to unlock is going to turn the fighting into a grind before you can get any use out of it.

The lack of a Quest mode is extremely irritating.  And the amount of text at the start of story mode is laborious.

I tried to play a match online for about twenty minutes and was able to get into exactly one.  The guy quit the second before I was going to kick his ass with Schadenfreud or whatever her name is.

It sounds like I hate the game, I know, but I don't (well, maybe I hate the m-fing Apprentice).  However, I can see I'm not going to be playing this for months to come.

For mikagami - if you think this is a POS fighter, then what do you suggest as an alternative?  I've looked at VF5o, but never pulled the trigger.

Get VF5o. The BEST fighting system, IMHO, bar none. Oh, and the AI doesn't cheat, either. Nor does it contain crap like Star Wars characters in it. And it has a long 'travel around Japan fighting other 'players' in different arcades' mode that'll more than keep you entertained for a long while without playing against another human player. You can even (to a point) play dress-up in it like you can in SC4.
