I picked up Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the XBox today while getting my preordered copy of The Third Age. I almost bought the Gamecube version several times, but I'm glad I waited. The Plus version adds 6 Sonic Game Gear games and some non-Sonic Genesis games (Comix Zone and The Ooze). It also allows you to save the games and resume them from any point. It's great to be able to play for just a few minutes and quit, rather than knowing I'll be tied down for a few hours if I want to play through the whole game. For $20, it's a great bargain. I just wish there were more collections like this.

I did buy the Gamecube version and I still bought this solely because of the save feature. Honestly, I was stunned the GC version didn't have that feature to begin with. The extra games are nice, too.

I picked this up for the XBox yesterday but haven't had a chance to check it out yet. I played all the Sonic games on the Sega Genesis over and over so I'm looking forward to playing them again. I'm betting my two-and-a-half year old will have fun watching too.

Hey - now that's it on the Xbox, why isn't Sonic CD included in this version? I really should pick this up though. So many great titles for only $20...

why isn't Sonic CD included in this version? Apparently the way the game worked with the Sega CD system makes it impossible to emulate...

I'm just spouting the company word (though I forget where I heard that word). Maybe it can't work as part of a "collection." So put it on a bonus disc, right?

It also allows you to save the games and resume them from any point. I must be doing something wrong because I haven't seen this option at all. When I hit Start the games pause and the only way to get back to the main menu is to reboot the Xbox. Is the save anywhere something you have to enable or am I just confused?

I believe you have to hit the white button in order to bring up the save menu.

Is Dr. Robotnik included, and can you play 2 player.
If so, I have to get this for my wife.. she is a Dr. Robotnik addict.

Yes and yes. In fact, both the Genesis and GameGear versions are on here.
