I'm playing away on the XBox version of Return of the King tonight and I'm on the Pellenore Fields level, where you have to run between sides of a valley and take down the big elephant-things, while running through an army of enemies in between. Truly a masterpiece in terms of pissing me off, but I digress. Anyway, I run down into the valley at one point and the camera gets stuck focusing on where I came down into the valley. I naturally get sucked into a huge fight that goes off-camera and I'm hitting buttons like a madman and trying to move in the direction the camera is facing, but damn if that camera doesn't just sit there. Doesn't move at all. I somehow managed to not get killed, but brought myself back into frame and then went to the other side of the frame and then the camera moves again. Ugh.

Add to that the fun with the Witch King and I'm hating life on that mission.

I had that happen with Soul Reaver 2 one time.  Fighting the last boss and all of a sudden the camera backs out as far as it could (I was a little tiny speck at the bottom) and won't move other than left or right.  Couldn't get it to refocus until I guessed my way out of there and into the next room.  Kinda hard to do by 'feeling'.

I had this happen recently in GTA:SA. I had taken Denise on a date, and when I dropped her off at home, the screen went black. I thought it was loading a cutscene, so I waited. Then I heard a car honk and somebody yell at me.
I didn't want to reload, so I ran until I bumped into somebody and then beat them to death, hoping a cop would see me.
It took a few tries, including some blind car jacking and driving. It was quite interesting, let me tell you.

The 3 R's:
1) Reboot.
2) Reload.
3) Replay.

Or alternately:
1) "Really starting to piss me off....."
2) "RETARDED Q&A TESTERS@#$!!"
3) Return.

In my world, if it is less than 8 months old, it is still an active thread.
Don't make me kick you!
