I'm not sure what they mean by 1960's flavor, maybe bad dubbing and artificial film scratches during the cutscenes?

The game finally has a release date - October 26 for XBLA, Windows 8, and Windows phone.

I've played through the trial on XBLA a couple times today and I'm on the fence with it. While the hand drawn art and humorous dialog is charming, I'm unsure of its long term appeal. There really isn't a whole lot to it.

At five bucks as a mobile app, I'd definitely grab it but $15 seems a bit steep.

After reading their review it seems to be a bit more in depth than I first thought. May end up biting for the local multi alone.

It's supposed to be very similar to Advanced Wars, so it should be a good game.  I'm not big on letting demos form my judgment of games because it's pretty rare that they are done in a way that truly makes me want to play a game.  I've listened to discussion by the guy making this game and he is in love with Advance Wars and made this as a lover letter to that franchise, while adjusting some things he didn't like about the series.

Let me explain. I listened to an interview where the devs said that while he liked AW, there were flaws in AW that he was trying to avoid. I forget the exact arguments, but it was stuff like it being too much of a numbers game, units needing too much positioning and the difficulties of that.

From the little time I played it, the game was very fun and intuitive. Cross platform multiplayer is a definitive plus

Yes 360.

It`s Windows 8, Windows 8 RT, Windows Phone (7.5, , and XBL.

The phone implementation is more intuitive than a PC with no touch interface.

The XBL version might be interesting.

thankfully I have a 360 so if I want to try this I won't have to put Windows 8 on my PC.
