Anyone else getting tired of all these boxed-up patches they keep releasing for Sims 2? My god ANOTHER one on the front page already coming out after how many already?
I like the way Epic does things and releases all their add-ons free to thier customers.
An expansion or two are great if they add tons of new content, but these guys are really milking the cow. I only bought the original Sims 2 for $50 and can't see spending $30+ each time a new patch with some extras comes out. Total up all that cash you're spending on sims 2 and all the expansions and you've got yourself an Xbox 360..

EA wouldn't make nearly as much money off the Sims if they released free patches with this content smile

That said, I really like the fact that they constantly add new content to a game that shipped with the bare minimum (if you're a Sims fan, you'll know what I mean--what, 10 different kinds of wallpaper? puhleez)

Welcome Tom!

I have to confess I've never played The Sims or Sims 2.  I always want to but for some reason never have bought it.

No joke.  I remember seeing PC sales charts with half the slots claimed by Sims and the expansions.  I'd say "mine that gold" but this has turned into some serious strip mining.

(I own all the Dynasty Warriors titles and expansions)

Yeah, as long as people are buying them, they are going to keep making them I suppose. THis is pretty much why I hate EA though.

It is pretty much why I love EA.smile Everytime a new expansion is out, that give me about 1 week entertainment. That is far longer than most FPS games which I either finish in 2 days or I am bored and stop playing.
