How are you finishing these games in 5 hours? Have you played before and now know exactly what to do? I thought SH3 was a 12-15 hour game

@ Dante and Turtle

1-yup,gamefaqs(SH 3 i still had the bradygames guide from yesteryear...a lot of cool stuff can be unlocked after finishing your first game...like lightsabres and laser beams coming from Heathers eyes to use as weapons)

2-easy setting-i only want the story out of these games before i get number 5..i have waaaay too many other games i need to get back to, to take my time with these(like double xp weekend COD4.not this weekend, following weekend)

3-silent hill 1,2 and 4 i have finished before and i pretty much remembered everything,i only had to consult the GFs a few times during those games(SH4 is this weekend)...with the SH games, its easier for me say if i am in the Hospital,to just check every door and eliminate all other possibilities ...no matter what difficulty level i have it on,i can clear the Hospital and Motel etc, very quickly(and the otherside versions)

i am only putting the time i finish the games in these posts, incase someone else wants to leg it through the games before the release of the next game..and i said SH3 was 5hrs...felt like 40hrs,terrible story, voice acting is pretty much the worse i have seen..and i was looking forward to it finishing

and i saw a video of number 5 and it had ...
Spoiler for Hiden:
the main character from Origins in it..doesnt look like he had a main part though

The more I read these replies, the more I wonder if I should try The Room again.  I can't remember if I had it on the easiest setting; I usually start on Normal and adjust up or down depending on difficulty. Maybe I never tried Easy - if there is an Easy setting.  Hmmm... icon_confused

to be honest Myto,i think that i was the only one in the world who loved the game,i remember it didnt have that great reviews, and a lot of people didnt progress that far..

i just remember playing it on normal and being well chuffed with myself when i would figure out the next step...or looking out of the windows and seeing dirt on them even, watching my neighbours(being the closet stalker i am)or ringing the phone numbers of the billboards,i didnt have a guide back then..and i didnt know that you actually had to ring the billboard/advertising boards numbers

i only got the bad ennding when i first played it...time to get that good ending!!

and yeah there is an easy option

I remember those days when I always chose Normal, and moved up to a harder level when I could, and it was on many games. Alas, those days seem to be over;  unless I can make up for my shortcomings by leveling up a ton, most of my games now are played on Easy.

The more I think about it, the more I suspect I already tried Easy on The Room, so I think I'll skip it to save myself from being "chuffed" all over again.  Yeah, chuffed is another of those words "we" don't use, but I watch enough British TV to get it, lol.

Spoiler for Hiden:
If they have characters from previous games gathering, that'll be interesting and would explain why Pyramidhead is there.  I don't know how the other Silent Hill games ended, haven't played them yet so I don't know if it's possible for the other characters could be brought back in.

your're right, considering each game has a couple different endings.

Ah, so the plot thickens.

Perhaps the name Homecoming has more meaning beyond Shepard's Homecoming from the war.

Anyway, I've been itching for a next gen horror game so I volunteer to be guinea pig for this game and buy it day 1.  I'll post my impressions here.

so, it's due out today but I never got a call from Gamestop about my pre-order.  Anyways, after IGN's 6.7 I'm definitely on the fence.  They say it's more action oriented this time around and less horror, definitely not what I was hoping for.

The fact that the controls are evidently not able to be inverted ensures that I'll probably never play this.

How does that even happen now-a-days?  Wow that's bad.

Can't you invert controls for the 360, somewhere in the Blades menus?  I'm pretty sure I did it for a demo (Two Worlds, perhaps); whatever it was, it worked.  I can't remember though if you can invert everything, like "aim" vs. "look."   icon_confused

I thought that you could just state a default preference in the 360's menu but that it couldn't force control inversion in games that didn't natively support it?

That makes sense, unfortunately.  A while back there was discussion of a demo eventually being released.  That would be perfect for testing this, but I haven't seen anything reliable about whether there was actually going to be a demo made.

And, yeah - if no Invert Controls, I'm afraid I'm OUT!  disgust

Yahtzee has his review up:  http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/284-Silent-Hill-Homecoming

I don't usually stick around for the bit after the credits, but this one was pretty funny.

It's not that bad, but going through a long, drawn out, 3 day Asian funeral and playing a creepy game with deathly overtones like Silent Hill can get to me.
