I really don't understand why Physical Adepts wouldn't be in the game already? I do seem to remember that in the first and second edition they were in a suppemental rulesbook, but as of 3rd edition Shadowrun, I think they were a standard part of the character creation options?

Well, that's an easy question to answer: Because every class costs time and money to implement. From what I've heard, Physical Adepts are a pretty complex class in the first place, which means they require particular care and attention from the developers. This isn't a AAA-game after all. They need to prioritize where to spend their money.

well, since they use the same core rules as every other class, and mostly the same skills (with a few specialized ones) I kinda think its not that much extra effort, but then again, your explanation is probably the right one.

We only ever ran one campaign with a physical adept and we were constantly having to consult the rule book. We ultimately decided that it would be in everybody's interest to let that character die heroicly.

in game assets: All these scenes where built with actual game assets, but they were assembled in Photoshop rather than the game engine (which is still in development). The art team added a couple of bells and whistles which we hope make it into the game (like the localized lighting effects) but overall this is the look that we are shooting for on desktop computers and tablets.

now they're looking at a May or June release: As we announced a few months ago, we’ve backed off our original delivery date of January 2013. It might’ve worked for the scope of the game we originally envisioned but as our ambitions (read that “features list”) grew, so did the time we needed to deliver! Plus, we made a big move from our original top down camera to an isometric point of view and that took serious R&D time. Right now, according to our estimates, we’re looking at May or June.

This is kind of bizarre. The delayed release was clearly communicated during the Kickstarter campaign itself when the funding grew to very large levels, but one single site saw the latest update from them and thought the game has been delayed just now, after months of development. Cue an entire world of game journalists reposting that as if it was news. *sigh*
