Is this in any way related to the movie District Nine?

No, but it is related to Madden 10, Ocean's 11 and 12 Angry Men.

Hahahaha

Haven't had a chance to play it yet but it looked good when they previewed it on X-play.

I have to say, I was getting them confused for a while myself.

This is the first game I'm spoiled by the PC controls.  There are maneuvers you can do on the PC that you simply can't do on the console. frown

online demo

i was so-so with it

the running is a little dumb, you press down on the left stick and he jogs, then about 5 seconds later it goes into Third Person mode and he runs faster(and half the time i couldn't stop the bastard either)

the respawning was a little slow as well, press A to select who you wanna be,select free spawn or squad spawn, then select where you want to spawn, press A gain to select where you want to spawn(again for some reason) ..then hurtle down to earth all the time your Pad is rumbling and wasting your batteries(especially if you keep getting owned,LOL)..so i will be turning the rumble feature off for online...when you are spawning and hurtling to earth, you CAN guide where you want to land which was pretty decent(on top of roofs, hills etc)

FWIW the maps are quite a nice size, really big...Graphics aren't anything special

overall..i'm gonna wait,not a day one buy

i am sure some of you will like it,just wasn't really my thing

I gave it a go.  Either the Infiltrator is overpowered, or I'm really damn good.  I had a score of aroud 850, while everyone else was in double digits.

It may have been that everyone was trying to figure out what the hell to do.  I was definitely overwhelmed, and it seemed I barely scratched the surface of what to do.  That said, I was able to take over pretty much every control point except one (you have to hack the control point for a bit then stand near it or awhile to take it over) and buy a mech which I could then tool aroud in.  I actually did better in outside of the mech.

I liked the drop in.  The wait to drop is pretty short, then the time spent plummeting to the planet (you have to hit A to brake) is pretty close to other load times.  It's also pretty cool, though I could see getting tired of it.

Movement is slow, but I like the run MO described.

Overall, while it seems it could be a bit too much, there's actually a lot here that could be very cool.  I'll wait for reviews and to see if there's any kind of single player, but I'm interested.

There are few games that can compare to the feeling of doing the super run in at high speed, targetting someone, doing a super jet jump and locking on to someone under you while you light them up in a fly by and come crashing down next to their fresh corpse.

I tried this for a little while. MP seemed a little iffy, but playing against the bots in the Dropship mode wasn't too bad. Still, the combat is a lot like Halo, too frantic for  me.

Game play is a blast.  Their demo MP options... not so much.  It's peer-to-peer, and no way to see if the host can actually handle a full game, no way to start your own server, etc.  With the full version I expect it will be less of an issue since you can have dedicated PC servers for the 360.  But right now seems just about impossible to find a lag free game.

Definitely going to get the game.

My hope is that if nothing else we can set up private matches with bots. Should still be a fair amount of fun that way.

I tried it, and it was kinda fun...didnt understand a single thing about it, but it was fast, furious and had a lot of cool looking info that I didnt understand...

I tried out a few different loadouts, and they did the same thing, except for one, who by some strange accident had me building a stationary gun tower of some sort...

I kinda had fun, but I'm not sure what I did at all :-D

According to the splash screen at the end of the demo you can run a dedicated server with a PC for 360 matches that allows for 32 players.

Just so you know, *any* loadout can call in supply stations and Minigun turrets from orbit.  You just hit up on the Dpad and it shows you the loadout screen.  If you get to $120 (Strange how in this far future, $ is the currency of the day. I guess its just a Texas thing to be confident. smile  ), you can call in a heavy powersuit. (Supply Station is $20, Turret is $40)

That was only for the UK/European version.

Gamestop and Best Buy are both showing it as 9/1.  Maybe pre-orders are in?
