Screenies hereThis is a nice look at all of the minigames in the Wii Play collection. The target shooting looks like a lot of fun--the tank game too.

I SO want this. Why is this a launch title in Europe and not here in the US?

I find it interesting that none of those games would interest me if it weren't for the fact that I could play them using the Wii controller. But add in the Wiimote, and they look like a lot of fun.

I played the target shooting thing for a tiny bit today. It was not at all interesting or entertaining. In fact, the unit running the targeting game was the only Wii not being played, fwiw.

Really? I watched a vid of the target shooting a few days ago and it looked like fun. They started out with the targets like in that screen, but then they start throwing in other kinds of stuff. In the last part, you have little Miis running around and UFOs swoop in and hit them with tractor beams to carry them away.

You say that like it's a bad thing. If it's any good, that one alone could be worth the 10 bucks.

I think all of those games look like fun. I know my wife would enjoy them. And her family, who are coming for Christmas. I could use this and Wario Ware in time for the holiday, but what are you gonna do?

Yeah, pretty much my point. If you're interested in this, and you aren't part of the anti-reserve movement, I'd suggest reserving this. I'm guessing there won't be zillions of them.

IGN Australia review: http://wii.ign.com/articles/748/748607p1.htmlFrom the review: 7.0 Presentation Very minimal in terms of flair, but very straughtforward and easy to navigate from game to game. Good integration of Mii characters, too. 7.5 Graphics Clean, colourful and non-threatening. It's all so mainstream and easy to digest that it borders on iconic, if not pretty. 7.0 Sound It's unobtrusive midi that occasionally wanders into elevator music territory. But more often, it's classic Nintendo fare. 9.5 Gameplay The games were designed to be instantly playable and teach as much as entertain. Apart from the cow-steering, it succeeds completely. 6.0 Lasting Appeal There isn't a whole lot to draw you back to Wii Play after you've earned all the medals. However, it's a trade-off for the bundle's pricetag. Maybe I'm in the minority... but I didn't know it had a maximum of two players? Anyway, great score and hey, the price with an extra wiiremote is great!

Anyway, great score and hey, the price with an extra wiiremote is great! That's an encouraging review. I think I'm going to pre-order this one, especially seeing as how I can't find a second Wiimote anywhere. It'd be nice if there were another game or two that did this same thing in another month or so. It's a good way to pick up that third and fourth Wiimote for a less painful price.

And I look at this Wii Play thing this way - odds are you're looking for another Wiimote, so why not blow an extra $10 and get this game pack too? $10 more for ALL of the mini games? Thats a great deal, with tons of potential gameplay for that $. Regardless of ratings, I smell that combat game seeing tremendous play in most households. Combat wins.

Hey sweet, you can give us a nice preview, since we don't get it across the Atlantic for another 5-6 weeks.

I think reviews for this are kind of pointless. It's a $10 mini-game disc meant as extra incentive to get a Wii-mote. I think 90% of the value is in getting the extra controller. So getting a simple game collection demo disc on top of that is cool for only $10. If this was actually trying to be a full fledged game I would be worried, and I really do scratch my head as to why websites are trying to review it as one.

What Tebunker said...it's ten bucks (assuming you need the wiimote anyway). I'm hoping two or three will be fun for more than a couple of minutes and just maybe we'll get one classic out of it.

I have no idea why, but the cow racing game alone looks like the reason to own it.
