So... these games are pure open world mayhem? Yeah, I guess you could say that. They also have a story, progression through normal open world missions and everything, but lots of mayhem if you like that sort of thing. And if you don't like that sort of thing then you should re-examine your life.

I just finished the story in Saint's Row 2 and a number of the activities that you can do on the side. Took me 22 hours in total. Conclusion: Saint's Row 2 is as fun as I remembered and I can't wait for number 3.

Smooth Criminal Edition EB Games Australia has outed the 'Smooth Criminal Edition' of Saints Row: The Third.
Available for $128.00 from November 15, it includes the game, unique edition packaging, sunglasses, a bullet-shaped ice cube tray, silver-plated Saints Crest cuff links and an exclusive in-game soundtrack. as its EB Games Australia,i guess that's $128 AUD,the link goes on to say that THQ had said last month the special edition pack would cost $99 in the States I can't say there is anything in this pack that makes me run to pre-order the game,i think this game will still be 2012 for me

Crap, add another game to my wishlist. Ditto to that. In fact... well, since I'm going away next Monday for a few days, I think I might pass up on Skyrim and just pick up SR3 on the way home. Maybe. Or I'll get Skyrim today... and I just reached level 53 in MW3... I can't decide!!!!!

Or for $33 off GreenManGaming, like the deal you posted dork. It's Steamworks, so I figured I might as well get the cheapest version available. Although they did just mention that if you order any version from the THQ store you get free copies of the 4 planned DLC packs, which seems like a good deal too.

[edit] I like how THQ tries to stick you with the extended download service.

I was up early this mornin, had almost an hr before i had to get ready for work....
Playin this on PC but not quite ready to start a new thread over there yet.
I mean from millimoment ONE, this game had me fucking ROLLING with laughter at it's awesomeness.
Somehow nobody spoiled the opening ... prologue for me before i saw it so it just had me friggin rollin and kept me laughin hilariously right on through to getting a crib. In a good way....
You said it again...lol.
I just have one minor problem that's actually rather a big one....my character's head seems..a lil different in game than in the creator and i'm not happy with it...so i'm gonna have to rebuild and restart. This is important shit, damnit.
I'm not totally happy with the in game gunshot sounds...but then when have i ever been except maybe the original rainbow 6 series....i expect a mod will address as usual. The cutscene gun sounds are so much better.
So, how many smashed ATMs are out there this morning?

Ok, grabbed it at lunch and played through the first couple missions. This game is a SPECTACLE!! Starts out with a bang and then continues to bang you all night long. I'll put up some real impressions after I actually get some time in with it, but first impressions are the hotness.
This looks to be the last must have game of the year for me so now I have to start working on everything. I have a crazy number of killer titles I have to work through (many of which are serious time commitments), and not sure how to prioritize them yet. That might be a good separate topic...

Crazy rediculous but sensical fun is how i'd describe it. It hangs on to just enough sanity to make you care about the characters....quite a bit if you get into it. Especialy if you've been into it from SR1 on.

while i was able to get both this and ACR for $70 due to a damn good deal, I ended up having to get the ps3 version of this. now I need to decide if my natural affinity for the xbox controller will override my need to play this now. I hardly play the ps3 outside of exclusives and not having the option to join my friends there playing it while I play other games makes it less likely that I'll get to mess with the mp. sr2 mp was a lot of fun even though I played very little of it. I was hoping to get to see how messed up everyone made their characters in sr3.

this decided it for me. how can I pass up getting the 2nd game for free? At long last, THQ and our friends at PlayStation are proud to unveil additional content for Saints Row: The Third owners on PS3. For all players that purchase Saints Row: The Third on PlayStation 3 and redeem their online pass codes within the next 90 days, they will receive a digital copy of Saints Row 2 (a $19.99 value)… absolutely free! ... Saints Row 2 will be available for free starting early next week for all players who redeem their online pass in each new copy of Saints Row: The Third. The offer expires at midnight on February 13, 2012,. This offer applies to the United States, Canada, and Mexico only. as I played and sold the last one, this is a no-brainer.

got my copy from Gamefly today, and played for about an hour. the opening was great, and I'm kinda curious as to if they keep the momentum going, but I also have LA Noire, Skyrim and AssCreedRev on wanting playtime. still, I like it enough that I'll probably buy it, but it'll be for the PC if I do.

If you really wanted to play Saints Row 2 again, you could have done the other no-brainer and just kept it as well.

Kind of. I went with the male British accent. It seemed to fit my chubby Zach Galifianakis looking (but ended looking like Chuck Norris) character.

kinda bummed I wasn't able to recreate my chubby green afro'd albino quite right this time around (the pale skin tones didn't seem right, and the afro wasn't big enough), so I just went with the default character.
