But...but the Robocop pistol, the Aliens Pulse Rifle, the Blade Runner pistol, Han Solo's pistol.... it's so much better running around with those things.

I don't care much about skinning my weapons either, but they have some really great ones in this game.

But I had something else I dropped in here to say:

Fuck Professor Genki and his "Hard" challenge.  Fuck him right to hell.

I haven'thad much trouble with any of the other hard missions so far.  Sure, I've had to replay them to get gold a bunch of times, but each time, I could feel myself getting closer.  This one, every time it drops to silver, I haven't even gotten to the last section yet.  WTF, Genki??

I haven't even worried about medals, as long as I hit Bronze to finish the activity I'm happy.  The only event I don't like so far is Super Fight Club; haven't failed one yet but they're just boring.  I'm glad they kept the same rules for Insurance Fraud, where you can ignore the spots they mark on the map and you can go out on the main highway for an easy go at it.

There's a few you'll want to hit Silver on to unlock a power upgrade or weapon or what not.  Be sure to check the challenges list of rewards.   Genki Gold just gets you weapon skins though I think, so whatever.

If you guys aren't calling in your named Homies to wander around with you while doing random quests/challenges, you're missing out on some great pieces of dialog between Homies, and some general banter as well. Try it.

Sadly, each pair of homies only has one line of dialog, but they're all great and worth hearing at least once. They also added more solo banter, just smaller tidbits that are sometimes also funny.

It's not just the main crew too, be sure to take out the others you get.  I'm hoping someone puts up a youtube of all the combinations.

you know, I don't think I've called my Homies once.  of course, other than Burt Reynolds I rarely called them in during the third game either.

This is worth it exactly once.  Every time you call them in, you hear the same dialogue.  Every.  Time.

Yeah, but you can have 3 people with you on a fight and they get all of the conversation out of the way pretty quickly.  Also, for the longest time you don't have very many homies.

Well, I just finished this up tonight and it was definitely a great ride.  There were a few frustrating parts and some side objectives I wasn't really fond of, but overall I had a ton of fun.

I finished at 96% complete at just under 23 hours, for what it's worth.  I had heard some complaints about it being very short but that doesn't seem too bad to me.  I'm not sure if I will go back to find the last few audio logs and whatever else I missed.

I'm almost at 30 hours of playtime, which is about what I had for SR3, so I can't complain it is too short.

Yeah,  think my SR3 time was around 30 hours as well, so I guess compared to that Saints Row IV has been a bit shorter, but I put that down to the much faster traversal time.

GAME OF THE MOTHERFUCKING YEAR.

The bar has been set high for the rest of the year, and while the others may be fun I doubt they;ll have me dancing with the characters during the closing bit.

yes.  I danced.

I got this game to christen my new 780GTX and I haven't even played it yet. For some stupid reason (*), I decided to give The Witcher another shot and have got sucked into it.  So now I'm putting of SR4 so I can play a much older title on my shiny new card.

*I have Witcher II installed so I can get the Steam Trading Cards, and decided to maybe play that. Then, I recalled that you could import a Witcher I game file and then, well, you know...

This is not the game to get the most out of your video card.  Graphics are nice but pretty low end.  Witcher 2 on the other hand...

Agreed. That's why I was thinking of Witcher II to challenge the new GPU. I have tried it in the past and been frustrated with performance.  I was only planning to dabble in the original to wet my feet and remind myself of its charms. I never did finish it before, got maybe 80% through. Now that I've restarted, I may play it to completion. SR4 will have to wait.

So I guess their first DLC (which is not part of the season pass for some reason) is some skins and vehicles with the Grass Roots pack and Presidential pack: video here.

I don't think I will be buying that, but the plunger to the face does look fun.  smile

I tried checking out some of them, but I only picked those matchups that might seem interesting.  I was disappointed with Shaundi and Gat's coversation, but Ben King and Julius had an interesting one smile

I'm gonna agree with Ceekay here - SR4 has been the ultimate of rides. I spent SO much time playing with a huge smile plastered on my face that there's just no way that anything can top this. SO many awesome scenes, SO many awesome one-liners, SO many things they 'borrowed' from elsewhere that made me totally laugh out loud.

Game of the year. Period.
