I really haven't been paying attention, but I saw this game mentioned in 'What are you buying this week' so I decided to take a look at it.  I remembered Misguided did a preview a while back, and was kind of surprised there wasn't a thread for it already since folks around here seem to eat up games that try something new.

anyways, has anyone heard how much this is supposed to cost?  it's due out tomorrow but Steam hasn't tossed up a price yet.

CeeKay, I'd swear I started a thread about this one, but I sure can't find it...weird. I think the preview is still on the front page.

The game is out now for $8.99.  I'll be trying out the demo later tonight.  I doubt I'll be able to resist, though.  I think I own pretty much every Puzzle Quest-style RPG/casual game mashup ever made slywink  Cheapass Gamer has a short review, giving the game a "Very Good" rating.  There's also a first impressions post at Rock, Paper, Shotgun.

I played it in beta, it's definitely a fun little twist on this type of hybrid/casual game.  Particularly if you like solitaire/poker games, which take the place of the bejeweled gameplay.  Essentially you get 3 moves per turn, which you can use to cast spells/use abilities, or to form 5-card poker hands in a solitaire game format to attack with.  One interesting twist is that you can nab single cards from the other players' solitaire hand.  I found the RPG elements a bit lacking but I liked the main game portion a lot.

Hey Rittchard, do the monsters get more interesting once you get past the intro section? I found the stuff in the early going to be kind of bland, lacking in the sort of unique abilities that made different fights in PQ so interesting.

I bought it after trying out the demo. Definitely a good time waster.

played some of the demo, and enjoyed it but it didn't feel like an OMG BUY NOW experience.  I'll probably put off buying it until the Holiday Sale simply because I don't have time to play ti right now.
