Lots of RPG news this week, since both Shining Force Neo and Wild ARMs 4 were released in Japan this week.  IGN has impressions of Shining Force Neo and Wild ARMs 4, as well as news about Phantasy Star Universe.  Also, Worthplaying has posted a preview and English screenshots for Atelier Iris : Eternal Mana.

Hmm, I'm not quite sold on Atelier Iris : Eternal Mana.  And I really don't know why.  One on hand, combat looks intriguing and I like this mishmash of "old meets the new" with a lot of the things in the game.

But micromanaging all of the mana thingies and such I'm not quite sure if I want to do or not.  Although I typically don't like strategy RPGs (even though this is touted as more of a turn-based RPG in some respects) like Disgaea and La Pucelle (just not my cup of RPG goodness), I'm still pretty intrigued with this game.

I'm still not sure about all the aspects of the game, but I don't think there are any strategy RPG elements in Atelier Iris.  It looks like a standard RPG with a  really involved item-combination system.  Wild ARMs 4 looks really good, too.  I like the jumping elements (especially if they're used in the puzzles the series is known for) and the battle system looks intriguing in the videos.  I hope we get a confirmation of a US release soon.

Atelier Iris has been pushed back?  Worthplaying says May 24th, but I'm seeing April 5th on EBGames/Gamestop.

Gamestop has May 24th now.  I think EB just put up the wrong date, since NIS America has said it'll be released in May since they announced it.

Blah.  Well, one less purchase this month isn't bad...
