Yeah but while the bugs can be bad, I've had no trouble at least completing each senario on apprentice (or whatever the lowest level is) level. Now I'm messing around with the scenario editor and sandbox mode, just passing time till the first patch comes out before I tackle entrepreneur mode (... or whichever the mid level is). Honestly I didn't even realize the game was very buggy until I hit the official forums, most of them flew under my radar.

The point is, don't let the bug lists scare you, the game is still more than playable, however a patch is definately in order.

I went to the forums because of the problems.  I've taken to NOT going to specific game forums unless there's something seriously wrong with a game.

Wolverine, just try and get the first scenario to the midlevel.  You'll see the problems kill your chances, and then see what they actually are as your park will become broken.

Yeah this game is a complete turkey. I've spent most of the day battling issues and trying to enjoy the game. The game isn't too bad during the inital hour but things get worse the longer you play.

I've put in about 10 hours of play and ran into every single one of the errors listed above and quoted here
Quote
1. People will complain about not having "xxx rides availabel" as they walk right past them.

2. People will only get in line 50% of the time, and many rides will not get any people unless it's "free".

3. To see a consensus on what peopel think of you park, you'd have to click on all 500-2,000 people individually (STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

4. There's a lot of keyboard functions listed in the manual, startegy guide, and official FAQ's that don't work.

5. Super slow fps in medium-large parks with more than 1,000 people.

6. Lots and lots of crashing and instability issues being reported (although mine has not crashed).

7. FPS view is missing even thought this was a much touted feature of "walking around your park".

8. The game's financial statement doesn't even add/subtract correctly.

9. People often disappear midway through a ride.

10. People will complain about being thirsty and will walk right past a "free" drink stand.

11. The information booth, burger stands, drink stands, and first aid stand "break-down". What the f**k! How does an information booth break down? You can't even send a repair guy there.

12. Assignments for workers don't work.

also to add to the list
13. paths are broke. You can put in a new path and peeps will just ignore it. The only thing you can do is delete it and reinsert it.
14. There are lots of graphical errors. Especially in polygon ordering while on rides. Sometimes polygons will get stuck and drag out everywhere. Which isn't too bad because in about 20 seconds the game crashes to desktop.
15. There have been games where it would randomly exit to the main menu and you aren't able to return to the freakin game.
16. Peep logics is insaine. Not only will they ignore a ride they want, they will often ride a ride they hate over and over again.
17. The computer would often autofinish a coaster in a way that will fail even if it looks right.
18. Playing mp3s off your hard drive is an interesting exercise. It will glitch out and kill all the sounds even after exiting the game, this required a reboot.
While not a bug, I would like to comment that the camera system is very frustrating.

I'm going to give this game a big thumbs down without a massive patch or three.

I'm going to see him live and in person at the Great Big Food Show next week. Got tickets to see him do a live 30 minute demostration (front row) and get some books signed after the show.

No with that out of the way, back to the *ahem* "game."

I have one last small teeny, tiny question...

DOES ANYTHING FREAKIN WORK LIKE ITS SUPPOSE TOO?????

I just spent, no wasted another 2 hours on RCT3.  this time I stuck with sandbox mode. The campaign mode is mostly B.&B.B.B. (broke and borked beyond belief) so I figured any fun that can be squeezed from this game, it would have to come from sandbox. Turns out that events and fireworks don't work for the most part, you can get stuck on a ride and can't leave AND if you have more than a few coasters, the game crashes and you can't reload the save even after a reboot.

Well, they have made a lot of changes going to 3D and working in the AI of the peeps.  Thats unfortunate that there are some problems arising but I am sure they'll take care of them soon enough, I have heard rumors of a patch coming out real soon so that good news.  I am still going to pick it up today and dive in...

Mmm... this is exactly what I was afraid of. Damn Atari for releasing a potentially spectacular yet unplayable due to bugs nightmare. I followed the development of TOEE and Atari pulled the same crap. They actually published an earlier broken version of the game instead of the final that Troika gave them... it was a disaster.

I really want to play this but I think I'll wait for a patch. I appreciate that building a whole new 3D based engine would created massive bug potential, but I'd rather they delayed the game and fixed the bugs, than release it as they did.

The patch has really been great for my system.  I hadn't experienced a lot fo problems before, but any that I had were totally cleared up.  I'm still messing around in Sandbox Mode, but I saw a screen of some guy building a track underground, and I think that's what I'm gonna try and do next.
