So, now 8 months after the release in US, there is still no set date for rockband in Europe.

I'm beginning to think its vapoware, and all you people are paid off by Rockband devs to make me THINK it exists, and post on this forum!

are you people even real?

anyways, whats the word on why there's such a long delay? I've heard rumours about the poor quality about the plastic instruments, could that be the reason? lack of supply?

anyways, I'd really like to try it out before Rockband II and Guitar Hero IV hits the streets...

I thought they had set a date...

http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42379

France - May 21st, UK - May 23rd, Germany - May 22nd (assuming I transcribed the dates correctly from the three announcments)

Noone cares for Denmark (I'm guessing your the Dane from OO).

I just want the Euro tracks that are supposed to be released as singles for NA versions.

I'm very disappointed with this release. I'd import the game from the UK or Germany, but what if my instruments break? I'm not sure EA is willing to ship replacements back to a country where the game isn't even supposed to be out yet...

The pricing is also insane. The whole set would cost me 196 at Play.com, which is $305. What the Christ.

So, seems like the Xbox version is out, and the PS3 is STILL not going to be here until fall sometime...

anyways, can anyone confirm that the US version of RB is NOT regionlocked?

From a quick google search

The 360 version is regionlocked.

The PS3 version is regionfree.

I do not take responsibility for the accuracy of these claims should they be incorrect.

I do not know how this effects a user in Denmark vs the rest of europe.  nod

well, IF the PS3 is regionfree, I can actually ordre the game from the US, and save myself close to 60 dollars on top of being able to play the game six months ahead of schedule...

You can try Play.com if you want a relatively cheap European supplier. They don't charge for shipping.

I think I'll wait for now. I have no idea if you'll be able to return defective instruments if you're not in the UK/Germany/France, and the question remains whether you'll be able to access downloadable content with your Live profile. I guess I'll place an order when I know for sure that these things won't be a problem.

PAL/NTSC compatibility could be a problem if you're using an SD television, yes?

Well, I saw that I could download all the DLC for Rock Band from Live, so I decided to hop across the border to Germany when I was nearby today. I got myself a copy of the game (70 euros) and all the instruments (170 euros). I feel like I've been punched in the nuts with that price (over $370), but at least I finally get to enjoy Rock Band now. Pain in the groin isn't keeping me from being totally awesome at the drums, seeing as I started on medium and am happily working my way through the setlist now slywink. Awesome game!

same thought occured to me - its about one year after the US release, so, it seems very planned that its this close to the GH4 release...sigh..I'll probably get that as well...

They don't have the kits where the game and instruments are all included for one decent price?

zombiethreadism!

So - interesting enough, neither RB1 nor RB2 has been released here in Denmark - UK I'm not so sure about - I wonder why that is? I mean, Guitarhero world tour (which I wont buy ever) is here, but Rockband?? nothing... There are some stores that have imported it, but its without instrument warrenty - kinda sad really

Rock Band is available in the UK for 100 - without the game, the price for both from Amazon being 130.  The same set in the USA is $130, or 89 at current exchange rates.  Fucking ridiculous.  I hope it tanks.

do you have to buy all the instuments with Rock Band, can't you just play it like Guitar Hero and just use a Guitar,or have a missed what Rock Band is all about?..is it only possible to play with friends?(as Drums and others, etc)

and Rock Band 2 was released here in the UK in November(according to GAME website)

It's a rip, you can get the Drums for Rb1 for 79 no Game. The game is 39.99(RB1). RB2 is 44.99 and 130 for the full set.

I have GH guitar and want RB2 with the Drums but you can't do just that.

All in all it's too bloody expensive and even 2nd hand is only 10 off the full set.

Total rip off atm.

Wait till March as the recession bits bound to be some dcent reductions by then.
