I didn't have to create a band name for every tour, only for the Band World Tour, not the solo ones.
hmm...i could have sworn that it wouldn't let me select a previous name and play a different instrument. maybe i'm missing something...

Are you confusing the musician name with the band name? When you do the solo tours it's asking for the musician's name. When you go into Band World Tour, it wants a band name.

We started with Mightily Pissed, but apparently the Brits thought that was dirty, so the scores weren't showing up on the leaderboards.
We've since renamed ourselves Off-kilter Rhombus.
The band with just my GF and I is called Mechanical Fish Head.

I hate things that make you come up with a name. I hated trying to figure out a name for my town in Animal Crossing. I'm sooo clueless when it comes to stuff like that. How do you think I ended up with a lame handle like PaulBot.

There's a pretty good random name generator for both characters and bands.

Arise! any new bands out there? Well, my band name is currently The Warrior Lemmings, but after seeing the name on the side of a bus I'm thinking of changing it to Crackers with Guns

I went with "Revenge of Danger", currently second in worldwide popularity on my friends list behind only Trent Steel's "Apt. T2" (I think).
My wife and I were looking through some of the leaderboards months ago and found some really, really good band names. Most of the ones we liked were the ones that made us crack up. "Naughty Biscotti" was a hit, as was "Count Rockula and the Muffin Tops".

My band is called Package Thieves* and all the characters are approximations of the members of Superchunk each named appropriately. I am a geek.
*there is a Superchunk song called "Package Thief".

I set up an online band called the GTFacemelters for playing online with other Gaming Trend people. The lineup has been pretty varied. If anyone wants to jam with us let me know. Also bring an extra face in case yours gets melted.

Our Rock Band 1 band was the Cornballers. (An Arrested Development reference.) But the Rock Band servers blocked that for some reason, so it became the Cornwallers, which of course is just plain stupid.
With RB2, I have 2 bands: Vance Refrigeration and Barfasaurus Rex.
