I'm pretty confident at this point that Rock Band 2 is coming for November, and I'm a rumor whore for all things Rock Band.

I found this over at SFGate.com

Quote
He recently joined with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top to create the Billy-Bo-Jupiter Thunderbird guitar for Gretsch, a model based on the instantly recognizable cigar-box shape of Bo Diddley's classic instrument that will be featured in the impending video game, "Rock Band 2."

That guitar looks like this:

Not too shabby!

If it does come out this November it better support all of the DLC from RB1 or I will not buy it.  I'll just stick with RB and get GH World Tour.

It also better let you use the existing equipment. Or, if they do release new drums, they better work with the original game as well. If the requirement to play both games is to own two drum sets then no sale for me. Same reason I'm not buying the full kit for GH4.

I'm sure Harmonix will not force it's users to buy a new drum and guitar kit. They've never done it in the past, and have always followed the standards they put out for the community to make third party guitars. Unlike another company I know.

Backwards Compatable DLC has been the highest requested feature for a future version of rock band, and I think they'd be foolish to say no to it.

"GH:WT - We have 70 songs".
"Rock Band 2 - We have 60 songs, and 250+ more available as downloadable content."

LOL!  icon_biggrin

now thats fun!

couldnt they deliver the 1st one to europe before this? seriously, I'll be getting GH IV and RB 2 before the first rockband game ever hits these shores!

other than that, that guitar looks seriously cool enough to bring downtown to the bars after some hardcore playing...

I bet this would be more of a licensing question than technical.

Please please please please let there also be a new drum kit with cymbals that will also still work with RB1.  If I could just buy the big bundle again and get RB2, the Gretsch and a new drum set in one fell swoop I'd be a happy camper.

In other Rock Band news, apparently they're teaming up with Q Entertainment (Lumines, Meteos, Rez) to convert Rock Band into a Japanese version.  I really hope this leads to us eventually getting some JP songs coming over here as DLC like those European tracks did; I would kill to get some Ouendan songs like Rinda Rinda on Rock Band.

Nope. It looks like someone was trying to make the X-plorer and about halfway through got drunk, stoned, high, and kicked in the nuts, and then tried to finish it.

More evidence pointing in the direction of a release of Rock Band 2

Quote
In other RB2 news, we've heard from our retail buddies that Rock Band 2 is showing up in databases 'round the nation with a November 2008 ship date.

That expensive piece of kit you bought for Rock Band is looking slightly better value for money as proof that Rock Band 2 is currently in development has been practically confirmed by a leaked retailer release schedule in the US.

The schedule apparently shows that the title is down for a November 2008 release!

Despite not having a concrete date set, I'm expecting November 25th to be the release date, since the game released Tuesday, November 20th last year - right before thanksgiving.  It's a must purchase and probably a day off work for me.
