I figured it out (Well, really, I just saw this srticle:http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4739&), but given that the Revolution controller will resist tilting, according to rumor, and that they've said that the technology already exists but hasn't been used for gaming, I've come to the conclusion that the controller is essentially a Segway for your hands.  Which could be quite useful, if calibrated carefully enough (something I would trust Big N to do).  Cool.

I'll be interested to see what they have in store.  Controllers are becoming more and more complex and expensive.  I'd imagine anything that requires gyroscopic motors like what you describe and/or a touch screen will have to have a cord I think.

They will succeed only if your girlfriend can use them to masturbate to music games.  I just hope they are designing these controllers to be useful in more than a few games.  The bongos were cool for a while, the gba connectivity was so-so, etc.  I hope it's not just a couple games at launch that take advantage of the design.

Well, supposedly, that is one of the reasons it's taken so long to show the controller, as they are trying to get it to run wirelessly with a long battery charge.

Also, I don't think this has limited use like a bongo controller at all.  At worst, I think it's just super advanced force feedback.  At best, I could be used to actually control many games (if not all games).
