Just load up Steam and download it and play. I love these free weekends. I played the heck out of it last time. I love the tank maps. The tanks are modeled very well and they're a blast to play.

I played it Thursday and promptly uninstalled.  Ugh, I remember it being SO MUCH FUN when it was a mod for ut2k4.

It was just terrible. Played poorly, overly harsh, poor graphics, just not fun at all.

Not to mention that if the RO devs really wanted more new players, they'd go to the trouble of creating a comprehensive training mission playable in single player.

It should cover everything, including basic infantry tactics and tank tactics.  These little help pop ups just won't cut it.

Agreed the learning curve is steep, and a tutorial would definitely help the player base...but I absolutely love this game.  I have a couple of regular clanmates that I tank around with and we absolutely love it.  On infantry maps, it becomes more about putting down a good base of fire to ensure your target gets hit; using grenades to flush and direct enemies into fire, etc.  Lots of teamplay is essential for a successful game.  The clans who have their own servers are usually more anal about practice times than WoW raiders.
