OK, maybe the sledgehammer is a bit over the top, but damn, this looks fun. I remember getting the first game and using a cheat to get the equivalent of C-4 to blow up holes and see how far I could tunnel before the game stopped me from going in one direction, and this looks like more of it but turned up to 11!

I traded in a few things and picked this up today. I only played for about half an hour, but it seems really cool! I love the whole premise/mission structure, and everything looks and sounds terrific, plays great... cool game.

Saw a Quality Comparison article... Red Faction: Guerrilla (PC) - Hands-on with quality comparison, screenshots and system requirements http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,695317/Red-Faction-Guerrilla-PC-Hands-on-with-quality-comparison-screenshots-and-system-requirements/Practice/The Windows Task Manager reveals that the final retail version of Red Faction: Guerrilla makes use of multi-core processors: While the usage is at about 50 percent when you are walking around, it is increased noticeably in situations with a lot of physics simulations. I forgot the game's 3rd person, which appeals to my motion sickness self (although Champions and Deep Space are unplayable for me because of that, and clearly they aren't FPSs). Is there any hope for a playable PC demo?

One of the first games that reducing the resolution seems to make a marked difference on my computer... interesting. I have everything maxed at 1280x800 and it runs like butter... even turning stuff down at 1680x1050 didn't seem to impact the frame rate, which was *decent* but not buttery... so I went for buttery. *sigh* my computer weakens...

I would guess there are also differences in the particle density and quality, HDR lighting, and other things not really shown off in that one screenshot.

Anyone have trouble with the key mapper?
Every time I try to remap a key it won't take the new input, and then the only way I can leave the screen is CTRL+ALT+DEL.
Fucking annoying.

A couple weeks ago it was on clearance for $28 at a local Target, so keep an eye out for those deals. I've actually considered picking it up for PC that cheap even though I already have it on 360.

I bought this via Steam over the weekend (my Target didn't have a sale on it). Pretty fun. The mission and upgrade systems remind me a bit of MMOs in a good way. Runs well. I'll test the keymapping at some point to see if it has any issues like it did for kratz (thought the defaults seem to work relatively well).
Most importantly for me, since even third person games have been giving me motion sickness of late, was no motion sickness with this so far, knock on wood.

You know, pretty soon you're gonna be stuck with Solitaire.... Have you tried Dramamine? Been to the eye and/or ear doctor? Just decided to give up on gaming?

just picked this up off of Impulse for 20% off. haven't had any trouble with the key mapper (I assume you probably got that fixed anyways by now) and I'm surprised how smoothly it runs, of course i haven't gotten to any heavy action yet.

Yo Kratz, had the same problem as you with the key remapping. Seems to have corrected itself later in the game, not sure why.
The game played really well until I got to the large battles and blowing up stuff. Game turned into a slide show, although it never locked up.
I fixed all this by playing in a window and increasing the window size to screen size so that while playing you can't see that you are playing in a window. The game runs like butter now with everything maxed.
Since I am not a techno geek, I don't know why, but it works.
Great game, most consistant fun for a long time. Massive for a shooter.

For some reason the game ran really sluggishly on my second startup of it. I'm thinking now it's because Steam's "ad blaster" or whatever was running in the background (I didn't notice, and didn't close it).

Ok with the Survey code this is $16 at Impulse!
I'm trying to resist.
I just bought Borderlands, L4D2, Dragon Age, and Painkiller: Black. Why am I even considering this???
